He's a simpleton who preferred talking to trees and neglected his subjects that they were little more advanced than wildlings. He also didn't know how to play the game of thrones... sooooo, no.
Bronn or Littlefinger would make a better king. And without spoiling anything, looks like one might be.

Lol the man knew what it meant to be to be Honorable as for neglecting subjects well no one in the north complained under his rule. He found the Idea of killing a pregnant woman an abomination and didn't go forth with it. I believe he would be a King because he lacks ambition a dangerous thing when you have absolute power. He doesn't know how to play the game of thrones because he sure as hell is not a back stabber with fickle alliance to anyone so long as it suits his purpose. He would have been a good king because he was a good man...hardly any good men are ever leaders sadly.

Well, yeah, simple and honorable men don't make good kings. The Southron lords were much for sinister and calculating. If compared to a chess board, Stark was the simplest piece, the pond.
Just saying he shouldn't expect the rest of court to follow his example but rather adapt to their style to survive.

I believe they DO but that is in a world where the back stabbing assholes like little finger and the rest of the 'court' didn't exist. The man stood for his kingdom fought in a damn war to save it from the mad king and in the end all he got was an execution by a tot with a sadistic complex. Stark may not have played the game how it was suppose to be played by back dealing stabbing and betrayal but he really wanted what was best for the kingdom...not himself.
