Alyssa stared at the wall in front of her. She had gotten a call from her parents telling her that her grandpa had died. All the memories came back to her in her mind. Showing her grandpa what she could do with her beyblade. Family dinners and stories on holidays, all the good things that she had shared with her grandpa, but with each returning memory an unwanted tear fell down her face.

Since she got the call, Alyssa only stayed in her room and moved from sitting to laying down. It was time for her to move to her sitting position since she had been laying down crying her eyes out. The funeral wasn't until a few days but she would have to return home to help with arrangements.

She wasn't sure if she could face her grandma without crying. In fact Alyssa hasn't moved from her bed since she got the news. She was supposed to meet Ryuuga at their usual spot but she didn't want him to see her like this. She didn't want anyone to see like this. Sad, depressed, and worse of all Venerable, anything no matter how small would rub her the wrong way and start up the tears again.

Alyssa lay back down on her bed and hugged her knees. She didn't want to close her eyes. Sleep wasn't going to be any help to her now. She didn't think anything would help her at the moment. The pain of losing someone close and dear to you is the worse pain anyone had to face. Every rejection or breaking up with someone you love doesn't come close to this pain that Alyssa felt inside her heart.

There was a surprise knock at her bedroom door, Alyssa looked over at it but didn’t bother to get up and answer it. She didn't feel like talking or looking at anyone today. She just needs to be alone. She closed her eyes and pretended not to hear the knocking. Somehow it seemed to work, the knocking stopped. Was she just imagining it?

“Alyssa? I know your there. Please answer the door.” Came the voice of no one other than Ryuuga.

It was somewhat shocking but at same time it wasn’t. Alyssa finally found strength in her to get from the bed to a standing position and walked over to answer the door. She came face to face with Ryuuga. Her face must have been pretty red and puffy with the words upset and crying wrote all over it. The look on Ryuuga’s face gave that she was right.

“What do you want?” she asked sounding shakier and upset then she wanted to.

Ryuuga looked at her and walked into her room. She shut the door behind her and looked at him.

“I’m here to see if you’re okay. But by the looks of it I guess my answer is clearly a no.” he said walking close to her.

They were now face to face. Alyssa sighed and nodded. There was no use in trying to lie or make an excuse. She may as well tell him and she did.

She told all about the phone call and her grandpa’s death, which was because he got really sick from doing something that everyone wanted him not to do.That must have been why she was so upset about it. It was because it seemed like her grandpa didn't even seemed to care for his life. It hurt her inside. But for whatever reason telling Ryuuga all of this made her feel better. Her heart didn't fell as heavy as it did before. She sighed after finishing her story.

Ryuuga’s face turn into not pity but sorrow as well. He wrapped his arm around her in a full embrace. Alyssa didn't fight it. Her arms wrapped around his torso and she started to cry once again. But Ryuuga’s chest felt Warmer and softer than her pillow did. She heard Ryuuga’s breath in her ear.

He was murmuring “it’s okay, I’m here everything’s will be fine. Your grandfather will always be with you.”

Alyssa looked up at him. “When in the hell did you get so sappy?” she said, her voice cracking from crying.

Ryuuga smirked and with one of his thumbs and wrapped away a tear felling from her eye.

“I’m not trying to be. I…I just don’t want you to be all sad. You look so much better when your smiling is all.” He said softly his smirk turning into a smile.

Alyssa felt her cheeks starting to burn. But also a smile along with it, she laid her head back on Ryuuga’s shoulder and whispered “Thank you”

Ryuuga tightened he hold on her and pull her head on her shoulder as Alyssa slow drifted off into a deep sleep in his arms.
