all of what you just said is true, but i feed charlie grapes ages ago and it didnt bother him.....maybe it is only some rats that cant digest them

hes beautiful and sweet as an angel. i know what its like to have to put rats down, theyre such amazing pets, its always extremely hard. but he looks so peaceful and healthy, i bet you gave him a wonderful life and sometimes thats all you can do. so don't be too sad, he won't have to suffer. youre doing the right thing sweetie.

yeah, i spoilt him rotten, and i know its bad but i trained him to bit my sister on command * he was so friendly, he gives you kisses with his wiskers which feels funky.thanks SP

I'm so sorry to hear about your little pet. After reading all the comments it sounds like rats are susceptable to tumors if they live long enough. But when he does cross Rainbow Bridge, he'll be in the best of company......

he will be with all his friends ross(rat), lenny (rat), bludge(budgie), and my kitten that was bitten by a spider. i buried them in a garden so they should like that. charlie was alive about 2-3 yrs is that long for a rat?

Yes..thats very long for a rat I think. I know mice don't live more than 7-8 months. We had a mouse for 1 1/2 years. I think if they're pets, they live longer because of the love we give them.

it is a really nice photo. I used to have a rat, her name was ziggy, prolly the best friend I ever had she developed cancer in her lymphnoid system and died while they were trying to test the tumor and see if they could remove it. Sorry to hear about yours

my rat has a tumor also, i'm trying to save up enough to have it removed. sorry to hear that, they become good friends after a while. hee, i used to have a guinea pig named charlie. anyway, it's a great picture.

thankyou, we thought of getting it removed but he was getting pretty old so thought that something might happen during opperation because he was so old that we just decided it was better for him just to be put down
