she said thank you.lol.windows managed to hide 65 gigs of space(said it was used)(real amount 12 gigs) when we did the clean install but right now i dont care.shes back.!!!

well, if its XP, its likely some kind of reserved restore space, where it can duplicate everything in case of a crash (which I find silly, siince if the drive crashes, the reserve will be just as wasted as everything else, but that Microshaft for ya) Not sure how you make it stop doing that... there has to be a setting someplace, as mine doesn't have that.

hmm, now that I think about it, you might have to fromat the drive before installing WQin XP, and make sure it doesn't reformat to get it to stop wasting that space. Alternatively, you could get one of those drive partitioning programs that can change the size of the partitions without reformating (Linux can do it and there's a prog called Partition Magic)
In fact, I believe there is a windows compatible release of GParted (A Linux/Gnome partitioning tool) because you sometimes have to repartition under win before doing the linux install... if you want, I could see if I have it
(but it would have to be tomorrow evening if I don't forget)
