You have never posted anything that I consider less than amazing. The skin textures ... wow. Excellent piece.

Are you blood addict ?

We can't see it here but you could see some blood soon

No, not really. It just seemed odd to have a guy shot full of arrows and no blood. That's all.

No problem
Just a choice here to not show blood.

Très beau! Un peu de reflets sans doute, qui donne une impression de peau humide/ huilée ou plastique, mais c'est pas gravissime Ca en jette! ^^

... Another awesome rendering of a much too common martyrdom... I'm familiar w/ ODavis' work --- this IS a nice adaptation...
... This is reminiscent of the martyrdom of Marcella & Dianna (40 AD / under Caligula)--- tho the setting for their deaths was a bit more urban, and separate stakes were used...
... Historically, when couples died together, they killed the girl FIRST as added torture for the man involved (helplessness & mega-guilt)... THIS, however, is done very well; the anticipatory fear and disbelief (of their shared fate) on her face is priceless...

Thanks

I always like your comments and erudition

For a more explicit picture of the same subject
I don't know if it's an appropriate place here at dA,
I try to avoid gory effects...

zekesgraphics In reply to MkGrr [2009-01-19 14:01:49 +0000 UTC]

... You're Welcome ! It's REALLY not about gore... It's about the emotion generated... I add some "blood" in my portrayals w/o having problems --- but the focus is on the subject... There would BE a moment just following the first volley of arrows where blood would NOT likely show --- that's expression on her face testifies the shock of such a moment, knowing she'll be next... Blood isn't needed here ( a few minutes later, perhaps ) !
... Now I have to look up the word "erudition" in my dictionary ! ;-P ...

that is stunning as always

I have problems with rendering transparent TIFF maps (for leaves) with mental ray and couldn't found how to fix it...

Couldn't asked on CGtalk forums - fear of being laugh at my newbieness

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MkGrr In reply to KeremGo [2009-01-19 12:51:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

Well, it's a common problem with Mental Ray,
never use TIFF, but TGA in 32bits mode with alpha (24+8bits).
You can use RLE compression too...

Yet another jaw-dropping masterpiece. As always, the textures and lighting are magnificent..... well done!! I really admire the treatment of the leaves and grass.

Thanks

Leaves are quite basic in shapes here, it's better
to see them from distance

Thanks to the Maya PaintFx which assign random colors
for the leaves too
