Emotions are fascinating to me. They are things that we all have, but many of us show them in plenty of different ways. Some people are super expressive and always tell you how they feel, others are more reserved and liked to keep what they think to themselves, and their are people that cover everything in between as well. Some emotions feel good to, well, feel like happiness and love while others like anger and sadness are things people want to actively avoid for the most part. What if you had a power that could tell you how someone was feeling and what would you do with such information? This is where empaths come into play. They have a power that tells them how people are feeling. Depending on the alignment of a character this could lead to a hero who is a great therapist or a villain who is a master of manipulation. I also find it interesting that the emotions of empaths are usually quite fascinating in and of themselves and it probably wouldn't hurt for most of them to see a therapist. Here are my top five favorite empaths. Honorable mentions include Hanazuki, Hawkmoth (Miraculous), Man-Thing (Marvel), and Gardevoir, Lucario, and Hatterene (Pokemon). I would also like to mention Inside Out as a whole, but specifically I want to shout out Sadness. I am not sure if she counts or not though because she is a living emotion herself. With that beings said on to the list.
