Description Camouflage is one of the most efficient ways to hide from something. Animals adapt and evolve for better survival in the wild in many different ways. The chameleon got one of the best evolutionary traits because it is able to hide itself in plain sight just by changing its color. It is definitely one of the most unique and interesting creatures on this planet and it lends itself to fiction quite well. Here are my top five favorite fictional chameleons. Honorable mentions include Rango, Busuzima (Bloody Roar), Flick (Animal Crossing), Sting Chameleon (Megaman X), Francis (Super Paper Mario), and Ilia Amitola (RWBY). I would also like to mention Reptile from Mortal Kombat, but he is based on many different lizards and can't be classified as just a chameleon. Also, oddly enough Mortal Kombat's Chameleon and Khameleon aren't very reptilian at all. Now on to the list.

5. Kecleon (Pokemon)

4. Pascal (Tangled)

3. Chameleon (TUFF Puppy)

2. Espio (Sonic The Hedgehog)

1. Randall Boggs (Monsters Inc)

Or should I say.... THE CHAMALEON?

Interesting fact: real chameleons don't actually change color to blend in with their environment. It is believed that they do so because it changes with their mood, or to adjust to temperature or light changes. Apparently, there's only one chameleon species that changes color at will and is restricted to green and brown.

Unsurprisingly, even if most chameleons could change color at will, they couldn’t make themself any color or pattern they wanted, or make specific body parts specific colors, or have absurdly intricate patterns, and even less surprisingly, they can’t turn invisible.Β

He is basically the monster equivalent of a chameleon so I will let him on the list.
