Okay, here ya'll go. It's an official Storm Pony Species Sheet.

Storm Ponies are a OPEN Species

Flaming mane and tails vary between storm ponies, as you can see.

Storm Ponies only consist of Pegasi, (naturally). When a severe lightening storm hits, in order to protect the ponies below, the Storm Ponies arrive and redirect the lightening into themselves. Their bodies are supercharged, causing static to run visible along the surface of their coats. This gives them the appearance of having lightening covering their bodies. Their manes and tales exists as a vapid flame, since normal hair would incinerate in the prescience their constantly charged bodies.

Unfortunately Storm Ponies can't leave the sky without the aid of rubber horse shoes. These help prevent the electricity from rapidly escaping their body, much like what happens when lightening hits the ground. When a Storm Pony looses it's charge, they die.

Coat, mane and tail colors generally consist of 'cool' colors. Markings are generally spots, never stripes. (The static appearance takes care of that) Eyes always slightly glow, and are always grey. On rare occasions, blue.
