Description An annoying sound awakened my beauty sleep and I grasped around until I felt something hard and slammed my hand on the Snooze button on my alarm clock five times before it turned off. I got out of bed as slow as molasses and yawned and got some clothes from my drawer and put it on. I walked to the door of my room and headed down to the bathroom just down the hall. I walked to the bathroom and closed the door. As I was brushing my teeth, I noticed that it was quiet. In fact, it was so quiet that all I heard was the humming of the fan in the bathroom. I finished brushing, rinsed my mouth, and headed downstairs to go get myself breakfast. I got out some cereal and milk and poured both into a plastic bowl. I walked to the living room and got the television remote and turned on some TV. I sat there munching my cereal watching the lame shows, ICarly and Phineas and Ferb switching back and forth between the two channels. Oh my gosh… This is so nerve wracking. I can't stand this silence… Hey! Where are Mom and Dad and Will and Sophie? Usually I would hear Mom in the kitchen cooking, Dad watching football, Will texting on his phone, and Sophie enjoying everyone's attention as she did some cute dog tricks. But today it was silence like someone died that morning. I put down my bowl on the coffee table in front of me and strolled to the kitchen to see if there was a note from at least one of my parents or Will. I looked on the kitchen island, the dining table, and even the stove but there was no note. Then I remembered another place, the fridge. I looked on the fridge doors and sure enough on the bottom of the right door attached with a magnet there was a note scrawled with writing. I reached down and removed the magnet holding it to the fridge. "Sapphi! We're in danger! Me, Will, and Dad are at the address 1259 Nitemarr Stroe! Go to Camp Giy Oiy Diy! It's your only choice! Take Sophie with you! She'll protect you! Be careful and look for something crystal blue on an elm tree that is shaped like a heart split located near our "Special Place." At the bottom, it was splattered with dark red dots that looked like blood. I looked closely and our special place was at Central Park next to a garden of beautiful blue pansies. Then I looked back and saw the dots and I gasped. What if they were kidnapped and were hurt in the doing?! I started to hyperventilate but cooling down taking deep breaths just like I had learned in yoga class. I re-read the letter and looked on the back. There was nothing there.  I grabbed the note and ran up the stairs two at a time and turned on the computer. I Googled 1259 Nitemarr Stroe. I hit Enter and scrolled down, it said that they couldn't find what I was looking for and listed some suggestions about a church. I sighed heavily and suddenly I felt like bursting into tears. I didn't have anywhere to go because my aunts lived in the Netherlands which was hundreds of miles away, my uncles lived in Canada, and my grandparents lived in Georgia which was a couple of hours away and I lived in Florida. I then started to cry and that turned into 200 tears spilling out a second. I got a tissue and blew my nose then it turned red. I looked into the mirror hanging on the door and I looked horrible. My hair all frizzy, my face wet and streaked with tears, and my shirt wrinkled like it was thrown in the dumpster, and I felt horrible. "Great," I thought, "My parents and even stupid Will is personnapped and the only "guardian" I have is a 2 and a half foot tall Golden Retriever who can't sit. Why is fate cruel to me!? I turned off the computer and sniffled. Then that's when I heard the clacking. It was loud… It ringed like a bell but more lanky and mellow. I got out my brother's baseball bat and put it in the batting position ready to bonk someone on the head if they jumped out at me. I swerved around turning every couple of seconds. The sound seemed to originate from the backyard. I slowly opened the back door and gaped at the destruction. The furniture on the porch was thrashed. Our swing was broken down to bits and pieces. The pool brimmed with caked mud lining up the ring of the pool and the shed turned over. Something moved at the corner of my peripheral vision and I let out a shout, "Sophie!" I dropped the bat and started running towards her. She tried to bark back but duct tape was taped around her muzzle allowing herself enough room to breathe but to not make any noise and a chain was wrapped around her collar, the other end staked to the ground. Her tail swung back and forth as I took off the duct tape.  Her golden, soft body was wiggling bursting with energy to flee from the cold metal. As I finally took off the chain, she put her paws on my shoulders and licked my face. Then she barked viciously and got off. I spun around and the gate was open only hanging by a tiny hinge. I picked the bat back up and said, "Come on, Sophie. We're gonna find Will and everyone else." I sucked in a breath of confidence and found her blue collar thrown in the back of her doghouse. She obediently sat down while I buckled on the collar. I found her leash still on the hook of the porch and clipped it onto her. She snarled and barked at the air confusingly until she nudged me to go on through the gate. I said, "You okay, girl?" She barked and silently whimpered. I could tell she was scared of the person or thing that duct taped and chained her up. I was furious. We headed through the gates and stopped by the mailbox to see if there was any mail for my mother and father. I turned around and looked at the front yard of the house. It looked perfectly normal for the past twelve years I've been living here except for the pink flamingos my mom added to the collection last month. A black van swerved around the corner and Sophie barked as loud as she could to get someone to help us. I screamed for help but it was too late. A masked figure jumped from the back of the van, grabbed me and Sophie, and jumped back into the van with me and Sophie as quickly as he came to grab me. Another masked person shut the doors and locked them to prevent any escape and I was terrified. Fear gripped me and the last thing I saw was Sophie's solemn eyes staring deep into my brown eyes…
