Description
This is a colored pencil version of the starlight glimmer sketch I did earlier for Starlight Day. I really liked the dark outlines I did for colored pencil Celestia, so I outlined this one as well. Although the hair did not blend as well as last time, I still like how it turned out. Tell me what you think everypony!Related content

This is very good. A few tips though, try and add highlight to the hair to make it seem more lifelike and colorful. Another thing is that try to add layers of colored pencil to better blend and coat the pony. It's a little blotchy and dull. But make sure to apply layers lightly. It might take up to ten layers of color.

First of all, thank you for actually giving a helpful critique of my art. (sometimes I feel like people are far too nice to be critical on DA). And I think trying more layers of colored pencil as you said, would definitely make it all smoother. I did six or more layers of color on my previous drawing of celestia, and it blended much better there because of all the layers. It also didn't help that the color I used for glimmy's hair blends like garbage compared to my other pencils. I'll try what you said here and hopefully it blend better next time.

No problem
If I may suggest some improvements.. you can try even the coloration of the coat. It appears a bit "blotty" and noisy.
I'm not sure what method or tool to use here.

(Whoops I missed the notification for this) And yes I agree, the coat just looks kind of off to me too, as well as parts of her hair. Next time I will try to add more layers of color so it does not appear to have uneven coloring, or I will use different colored pencils. I swear the only colored pencils I have that don't blend well are the ones I used for Starlight here.
