Description 1. I loaded my stage and this happens!?
It's a really easy fix

2. All you need to do is this "View(V)" -> "Display Coordinate axis(G)"

3. Oh now I can take a picture

4. ..Or not
This is also a easy fix

5. Go to "View(V)" -> "Display ground shadows(S)"

6. Well it did fix it. But some of the shadows look odd.
This can be fixed.

7. Go to "View(V)" -> "Self shadow(P)"  or you can go to the bottom where you can load models aka "Model manipulation" and select the stage and hit "shadow"which is under "Load" "deleted". It's in between a checked box that say "Disp" and "Add-syn".
Turning off self-shadow the way I did it is up to you.

8. Know you can take a picture of your model or watch it dance.

The floor to my stages disappear when I play it? Do you know how to fix that?

I'm having the same problem, I'm glad I'm not going through this alone.

I find it's just easier to raise the stage up a bit instead of going through all that.

Yeah it's easier but if it's things like this mmd3dcgparts.deviantart.com/ar… you kinda have to do it.
Plus the chances of getting a crooked stage that doesn't seem to want to level right, some people tend to rage quit.

Yeah I see your point.

Well... It's actually better to turn off the self-shadow of only the stage instead of the whole window, so as not to make the model look worse in favor of the stage, which generally isn't the primary focus anyway. But it's still a good tutorial to fix the first two issues.

I personally like having self shadow off for everything because I use custom toons (even on stages if needed) and they tend to make the model look much better. But each to their own.

Maybe so, although I rely mainly on shaders, but I was more thinking that users who need a tutorial for something this basic are probably very, very new to MMD and are likely not using shaders or custom toons anyway.

Well I guess it matters on a persons personnel preference whether they like self shadow off on the model they are using or not since not everyone has the same style. I did state the other way to turn self shadow off in the description without turning the models self shadow off.
But I may do a toon tutorial later down the road for people that are new to MMD and editing.
