Description This is the one thing, from The Silmarillion, and The Book of Lost Tales, both written by J.R.R. Tolkien, that I am bewildered by for most of the interpretations of Glaurung; The Dragon.

It's been stated that he crawled on his belly, dragging his weight over a cliff...a cliff!

And because of that people drew him as these.

And I'm sure there's more but case and point...pictures like these (Especially the first one) really make me empathize and even sympathize for Glaurung, like he's another school kid who doesn't want to miss out on a field trip.

How could a dragon, of all creatures move, or let alone support his weight with his limbs splayed like a salamander; particularly if the limbs are small, and that the trunk of the body is long?

I drew him like that too, but after seeing these pictures again, I just knew it would be sorrowfully hilarious for him.

Also, the part where it said he did was only during his fight with, Turin from ,The Children of Hurin, up on a rocky outcrop, so that would have made more sense since he would have done so more like a cat than a lizard (Which those pic have him look more like).

But that's just me, so what do your thoughts?
