This piece is just crap. Somehow I never had the connection with this one, I reworked the pose many times, the proportions, I didn't really had a plan either and some real life shit also happened that had a negative effect on my art mood and motivation. I heavily overworked it as well, so poor Makali basically got the worst timing to be painted. All in all this was not my best experiences and I wouldn't even upload her, but she is part of the series, so up she goes. God, I am so itching to try to fix her still, but this has to stop, time to move on. I should move on a day ago.

A day later: Okay, I will definitely paint a new piece for her. I just hate this one too much. I see where I fucked up and it happened at such the base i cannot really fix it by now. The whole front part is just pure horror. Sorry for the eye bleeding.

The piece that you see here is part of the collection of my personal learning project to handle painting. It contains heavily inspired pieces by great artists, such as Vakrai, Aaron Blaise, Marc Brunet, Marco Bucci, TamberElla and various speedpaint videos over Youtube. The goal is to learn what they know, how they see and handle forms, values, colour choices, practice my DAB knowledge, turn my subjects in space and all in all, be comfortable in my non-comfort zone. These pieces are for my studies and also personal work, having fun.
