Faster, faster, FASTER!!!

The race was over under an eye of a blink and the shadow covered everything that the eyes could see. But was Tonfall faster than the Moon?

OMG a finished thing???? Cannot be... I still feel super blocked, but Memuii posted an amazing Akkadorian event for the group and an idea immediately popped to my mind: i really wanted to draw a piece that shows speed and a fun angle. The rest... had no idea what I wanna draw, what background, what colours to use, whatever. So, I went with drama, like of course I went with drama. Red was a very last minute decision, but I don't mind it - even if my boy is 90% of pure white and white is always pain to work with. I know, this piece makes no sense - even though checking it in greyscale, i think my values are more or less okay (I do value studies in my sketchbook lately, hopefully that helps) - and I could work a lot more on Tonfall, he can deal with more red reflected light. But I also wanted to keep this piece fun and not overwork it.

As an event entry: this is the first task of the amazing event that you can find here: The Solar Eclipse Celebration - Birthday Event,This year, during our group’s birth month, a very rare event shrouds the horizon - a solar eclipse. Nanna, the great God of the Moon and creator of Akkadorians, will briefly veil the radiant throne of the God of the Sun - Shamash.For the duration of two months you can join us in honoring this celestial event and bring glory to both deities in exchange for various rewards (read about donating below).We hope this will give everyone enough time to participate and that you will enjoy this event with us!Rules of the event:This event is for Akkadorians only (including crossbred unicorns or horses)!If you do not own Akkadorian you can borrow one of our group unicorns.Pureblood Akkadorians needs to be registered in our masterlist - register here!Riders are optional and wild Akkadorians are welcomed to participate in all parts!Collabs are allowed, but each person can only get the rewards once!All entries get a bonus of +5CP!You can use the same or different unicorn for each part and enter as many times as you like, but each unicorn can only earn the +5CP bonus for their first entry in each part of the event!You can only claim the rewards for completion once for each part!Special rewards:Finishing at least one part earns you the right to use the new eclipse background! This part is a track race with a seemingly easy goal, to race the shadow Nanna creates as the Moon covers the Sun. Your Akkadorian will race on a dirt track and has to reach the finish line before the totality phase of the eclipse. The flag falls as soon as the Moon meets the Sun's edge, and ends the moment when the celestial bodies fully overlap.Art requirements - at minimum a colored full body with medium background or 1500 words.Your art/writing should take place some time during the eclipse.You can depict the race in any location - real or imaginary. Deserts, forests, cities; but please remember to include the eclipse somewhere in the artwork.Reward for finishing Racing the Moon:1x Hurasam (the 6MP gilding/gold potion), ,,The Ring of FireFor a short time during the totality phase of the eclipse, when the Moon fully covers the Sun, a large thin circle made of wood and incense is set aflame on the ground mirroring the Ring of Fire with the Akkadorians walking or standing around it. This act symbolically creates a barrier of light containing the evil spirits that may escape from the shadow, with glowing unicorns playing the role of the watchmen. New Moon unicorns always stand or walk in the middle and aren’t allowed to exit the circle until the eclipse has ended or flame has died on its own.Art requirements - at minimum a colored full body with medium background or 1500 words.Your art/writing should depict the scene described or a part of it.You can but do not have to follow the mentioned rules.You can depict this ceremony in any location - real or imaginary.Reward for participating in the Ring of Fire:1x Enu Nanna (the coat color changing potion), ,,Path of the SunEach day the God of the Sun makes the journey through the sky, from eastern cosmic gate to western cosmic gate, and at night unseen in the opposite way. Your Akkadorian will cross a vast distance to trace the same path the Sun takes on it’s journey across the horizon. This distant race is designed to test your endurance and persistence. It begins atop a hill shortly after the sunrise with each runner passing through the Dawning Gate. After following the downhill path it continues through a great sunlit plain on which end rises the great Zenith Hill. The race ends at the sunset after you surmount the hill and pass through the second Dusking Gate which stands upon it.Art requirements - at minimum a colored full body with medium background or 1500 words.Your writing/art should depict some portion of this race at day from sunrise to sunset - be it darting beneath one of the gates or racing across the crest of the hill.You can depict the course in any location - real or imaginary - and its elements in any way you want, as long as the core aspects of the course are recognizable.Reward for finishing Path of the Sun:1x Tebu Masku (the time turning potion),...

The first task is about a race between the Akkadorian and the Moon Goddess - the Akkas have to race the shadow as the Moon covers the Sun and the race is over once the eclipse is full. I managed to draw the end moment of the race, because I have a full eclipse, so question is did Tonfall win or loose? Will we ever know?

Ps.: I totally forgot Tonfall's glitters, oh well....
