Taken at Tropicario, Helsinki. Unfortunately I can't remember what species this snake was.. maybe some kind of rattlesnake? Anyway, I'll leave the determination to someone who knows better

Judging from the markings, I'd say it's a western diamondback rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox). Or possibly a tropical rattlesnake (Crotalus durissus), but the markings don't look quite triangular enough. So I'm going with WDB. But just to be sure, did it have black and white stripes on its tail? Alternatively, did it have two parallel stripes running down its neck before the diamond pattern began?

uh.. wow, I can't really remember, this one was in captivity and I don't have any photos of it that would show the tail, sorry :/
