duckpaw is very patient with others in most occasions. she often puts herself in the other cat's paws and thinks about how she would react if another cat was impatient with her.

despite her crippling shyness, duckpaw never hurts anyone on purpose. they could be her worst enemy and she would still muster up a kind word.

HISTORY

kittenhood (0-6 moons)-
duckpaw had a fairly uneventful early kittenhood. she was born along with her sister, finchkit; both of them had some obvious urges to explore and go on adventures. they nagged and nagged their parents, coalwhisker and larktail, if they could go outside at least once. they could hardly wait until their apprentice ceremonies less than a moon away. after some consideration, their mother and father decided to sneak them outside to explore with them. duckkit and finchkit were having a blast, finding scents, leaves, rocks, and all kinds of treasures they'd never seen before. although this fun didn't last long before she heard a warning from her father to stay close to him and their mother. she was confused at first before she caught sight of four or five mean-looking rogue cats approaching them. one of the rogues said something to her father that she couldn't distinguish, and the next thing she knew she was being nudged by her father to keep moving. everything after that happened so fast; the sudden squeals from her sister filled the air followed by the undeniable stench of blood. duckkit was hiding her face in her paws, listening to mewls and hisses from both her family and the rogues, before she felt teeth gently but urgently grab her by the scruff. before she knew it, she was carried back to camp by her father. it took her a few days to process what had happened; according to her father, coalwhisker, her mother had fought bravely to keep her safe. however, starclan had taken her mother and finchkit that day. not a moment went by that duckkit didn't have the image of her mother and sister being murdered engraved in her mind, but she still went through with her apprentice ceremony a moon after.

apprenticeship (6-12 moons)-
duckkit was promoted to duckpaw. her growing anxiety and mental trauma made it a little hard to train, as did her serious dependance on her dad. the two barely left eachothers' sides, both still suffering the loss of their family.
