Oh no, that was intentional.
there were two reasons for this. The first being is yes, Bounty Killers do Kill their Bounties if its labeled as 'Dead for Reward,' which is reserved for the worse of the worse. The other reason is it's a little call back to a lot of the Spaghetti Westerns I grew up on where they call the Bounty Hunters.... Bounty Killers.

Kitty comes across to me as a character who would not be entirely eager to take on a "Dead for Reward" job. I mean, my guess is that she has fun bounty-"hunting" but I'm not so sure she'd like having to kill.
Heh, yeah, in those shows nobody wanted to take the target alive.
