I'mma be honest, this file is ungodly amounts of huge. So, for the first time, I'mma have a normal file size up for fullview, and then the whole file size available for download. Please. Do me a favor, and download <3
I worked very hard on this.
Even though the results still could have been better for the amount of work I did for it. About 28-32+ hours.
Since the last screencap I changed a lot of the anatomy on the arm and back for the better.

About the picture, because I've been so anal about what it is.
This is not a 'creature'. This is, actually, Rei. Huhwhat? Yeah. For those of you who didn't know, he's a transfigurer, and he can morph into any animal, any mythical creature, and any person he wants. Now, this is very good for stealth tactics and escape. Attack too if you're trying to mess with someone's head, but Rei doesn't use this unless he's trying to get away from something he doesn't want to be caught by. Or, in this case, he's morphing into a creature proper for defense.
Which creature?
A black dragon. <3
That's basically the basics of that picture. I think I could have done a lot more with it, but I kinda gave up. I'll probably redo this when I have time to do things for myself again.
Anyway. I hope you enjoyed the semi-tutorial I did for this. <3

I like how you captured the emotion so well. You almost made it look like it's painful to transform. Which I imagine MIGHT be because he's just got those horns popping out of his back and everything. You've got REALLY good style though. <33

Wow, thanks very much! I was kind of going for a scary feel, and then, maybe, the painful part might translate from there. But truly Rei's transformations aren't all that painful because his body is made of condensed dirt. xD

Well, he's an Earth spirit. He can transform into any and all earth creatures, including mythical ones, and any singular individual. He can morph just parts of his body or the whole thing. He's very heavy - 1,658 pounds, and he doesn't have any organs. His body is kept alive by drinking water and breathing, both of which circulate the enchantment that makes his 'skin' warm and/or his 'eyes' wet, and just basically give him the overall appearance and feel of life. He smokes to quell his overwhelming energy force. He smokes both weed and cigarettes.
He's the main character in my upcoming webcomic. He was mostly fleshed out before the comic [note it took me damn near 6 years to get everything put down to paper], and then I changed him a bit specifically for the comic. 8D
And he's not just dirt - he's a combination of soils, minerals, etc. But it takes up his entire person, and he's seven feet tall. He's definitely -not- hollow.

Fun is the most important part of doing art. Just doing it for yourself. Though it is nice get a pat on the back from time to time. Still it's been a rather intriguing experiance to watch the process.

Kirudon, one of my characters, morphs into a black dragon. (but in this case, he IS half dragon.)
I never really expected this to be a dragonoid morph, but I see it now.
It's done well. The 'wings' look nice.

Personally I think shapeshifting is one of the most useful and powerful 'powers' there is, particularly if many different forms can be achieved.
I really didn't expect his 'power' to be this kind of thing. I thought he'd just go epic win and kick some ass. xP
(Guess he can do that this way too, eh?)

I usually only draw dragons when I'm in a bad mood, because I paint every scale and it's a good way to take my mind off of things. I have a few commissions to do first but if things get pretty hectic yeah, I'll probably draw him in a dragon form for my own sake.
And actually his main abilities lie within his manipulation of energy. It's great for stealth, and he can use the energy around him to push people away from him and force them to do long range attacks. He also has a spiritual body that's much more powerful than his physical body, because his physical body is really just enchanted clay and minerals. He died a long time ago and used incantations to make shells for him to continue to walk the earth in a physical form. Not a whole lot of his spiritual body is connected to it, though. He's like a puppet master. His spiritual body can manifest itself in dark, shadowy, misty tendrils, that can reach out to his opponent and shift his energy, scratch, slap, and push. His hand-to-hand skills aren't that great but he still can fight that way, if he has to.
Though for the most part he just runs away like Dr. Zoidberg. <3

And it is reasons like this that transformations are soooo quick. Nobody wants to see all the little details during the transformation. o-o Unless, of course, it's drawn out, then things become a biiiit more interesting.
