I go trout fishing often, and have the pleasure of seeing Blue Herons often-I love those birds!  Your photo!  It is great-such fantastic details!  Incredible!

That is a superb photo!  I bet that fine Heron wasn't hungry for quite awhile after gulping down that Sucker(I mean the fish is a Sucker-fish).   The branches and vine sure make the Heron stand out beautifully!  You were right-I like this one very much!

I left before she ate it, because I try not to disturb their process, but she did catch it right next to me - talk about luck. Yes it is a sucker fish

why would anyone shoot a heron - they are wonderful birds and mostly eat only the fish people don't eat.

People are just a very jealous type of animal - sad really. They have a big hole in them that nothing will fill. I think perhaps we are most closely related to cockroaches; always hungry, always expanding, always taking over more and more space... 
We would be better learning to share and live with our beautiful world.
