Description It took me 3 frigging months, but she is finally finished!

Rena Rouge from the show Miraculous Ladybug.

Made from a Clawdeen wolf doll with Frankie Steins arms.
I actually had to redo the body since it kept on chipping.

I also used some apoxie sculpt to adjust the curve of her back, adjust the chest, feet and sculpt the ears and her flute.

I tried dying her hair, but most of the dye flushed out after the boil wash to tame it.
I guess I might have not boil dyed it long enough???

The coat was already planned from the start, but it was a real puzzle.

Overall there was a lot of first time tries and experimenting when working on this one.

Just for shits and giggles, here's a comparison with the official doll.

I am selling her at the moment though. :,D
But it's good to know someone would, in case I decide to do sell her at some point.

And thank you!

Gosh, I still love this. She turned out so gorgeous!
I love how you did the coat half paint and half fabric. That was very clever.
The flute is adorable too.
I hope you're proud of her! :3Β

...Good lord, that official doll needs some work...

Me too!
She turned out way better than I was expecting she would.
Especially with all the experimenting and trying out different things to make everything work.

From sealing up the holes left by removing the wolf ears so I could reroot her, to styling her hair and carefully adding the bodypaint.
Even the Miraculous wasn't made in one try. But I am so happy how close to the actual thing she ended up looking!!!!

And more importantly...the paint hardly chipped. :,D

The coat was the first idea I had when it came to finding a solution for that bullshit coattail thing she has.

(It's a coat, but it's also not a coat. How does it even work realistically?!!!)

Still very happy how she turned out! ^^

Don't I know it.

Aside from ChloΓ© and the Marinette dolls, the rest of the official dolls are pretty disappointing.
Quality there is not much of it.

Yeah, I'm super impressed!
So much experimenting on one doll. It's very impressive.

Yeah, the paint! I can't remember exactly, what did you end up doing? I know the first time it kept chipping. Did you paint her but blush the joints?

UGH! Tell me about it. I can't stand character designs like that where the clothes literally make no sense!
It doesn't work realistically at all! How're they supposed to make doll clothes for her? How are cosplayers supposed to make her outfit?
I have no idea. It's silly.

That's so unfortunate. Well. At least you know how to repaint dolls yourself.
At least that way, if you really want a doll, you can make your own better. ^^
Like this one!

I think that is what keeps it fun too?
Learning different things with different doll projects?

I mean...you can make it as complex as you want.
It just takes a lot of trial and error to get it right.

I did blush the joints!
The elbows and knees anyway.
The shoulders and hip joints didn't want to accept the orange pastels because of the dolls body color.
So I just painted the thinnest coat on there I could have without it chipping before I put a varnish on there.

There is just one shoulder where it slightly chipped away, but it's not as bad as the other one.

I've seen cosplayers just sew on the tail?
Others do have a little jacket outline sewn on there.

But since the rest of the suit is skintight, I can imagine it takes some creative planning before putting it together.

Ah yesh!

Being so disappointed in the quality of the Miraculous dolls was what made me try to do repaints in the first place. XD
Salty motivation as it were.Β

I might make a slideshow-is video explaining the process in making this thing, because I am really proud how it turned out.

Yeah, absolutely!
There's so much to learn and experiment with there.

Ohh, smart. I hope she doesn't chip any farther.

Either way, seems silly, haha.
Cosplayers are good at getting around things like that though.
Exactly!

Oh my gosh, really? That's so funny XD
Hey, it's motivation nonetheless!

Ooh, I'd love to see that!

The official doll looking like that, was the whole reason I wanted to see if I can try and do better with a repainted one. :,D

And thank you!!!
