Anyways- Roger said that he hid his treasure somewhere- so valuable that it's worth a lot as one object- that's why it's one piece. I don't really believe strawhats will ever find it- because I understand "one piece" as an allegory of crew and having nakama- working flawlessly as one organism, group of people sharing one dream.
Searching for One Piece stands for searching for perfect crew and reaching it's unity...
Searching it itself is a journey. And finding a one is a precious achievement. That's why Robin didn't want to know what happened during void century and that's why Luffy refused to hear about One Piece's location. This would mean the end of the journey and searching for the answers. This could split the unity of the crew, settling down and lack of adventures.
The same goes for achieving perfection- you can pursue it, but never achieve, because perfection means end of the learning process. Analogically reaching final destination of your journey means end of movement itself...
