i like this i think the tree looks as if its errupted form the ground, it fills the picture really dark and lonely. looks like a very smart tree that holds alot of memorys from times gone by,

If I'm not mistaken, photography is art too. And it is entirely upto the photographer what is good to his/her eye. I really wouldn't care about what others think of as long as it is a beauty in your eyes. And if you ask my opinion on King Tree, I must say it is a beautiful picture. The tree possesses greatness in its enormous appearance, specially amongst the small trees surrounding that look up the King Tree with envy.
Great photograph! The border? Seriously, what's wrong with that? I think it looks good like it is.

Well, its a tree.

Essentially, not an interesting photo. I mean... where the captivating element, the negative space?

If it had a nice sky behind it, a portrait, a house, an angle!

I also don't like the border. You're supposed to use a small black line around the picture and a bigger white one - not two of the same size .

thanks for the comment, but i think the whole question of the border is a personal preference, there is no 'supposed' in art

Try saying that to Photography art galleries when you submit to them pics with black borders .

But, at the very least, its the 'standard' .
