Description This photo was a bugger to get. I had to crouch beneath the railing of our patio for at least fifteen minutes - because that's where the spider web was - waiting for the wind to stop blowing... I think it was worth it though, any thoughts?

When I was editing it, the TV was on and the commercial for Alfa Romeo Giulietta came on and the quote; "Such stuff as dreams are made on" (Shakespeare, The Tempest) just got stuck in my head

But then it didn't fit in the title box...

'Aisling' means 'Dream' in Irish Gaelic (according to Google Translate) and it had to make a substitute title.

I don't know about you guys, but the title somehow means a lot to me when I submit my pictures here on dA. You know, the whole 'first impressions are hard to erase'-thing and all that...

I used an add-on close-up lens for this (+10, with Macro) that I just bought and I love it

... I'm rambling again, aren't I?

Absolutely agree that the title is very important, as are the artists' comments, I reckon.
Certainly worth the effort.

This is a great image - I thought of harp-strings at first.

Somehow, it doesn't quite 'snap out' - maybe somewhere the contrast is off - either softer, giving a dawn-like warmth, or tighter, giving a tighter highlight to the cross shapes of the drops. It would also pull out the great bokeh that the macro lens has given you.
My R0.02

And I love to read about how people took pictures, and their thought processes, and yes, titles are important!

Thanks
I tried to make the web and drops stand out, but it didn't quite work... I'm going to try the picture in another programme and see if it helps, I've edited this in Corel only.

I had a quick look at it in GIMP, and the curves tool seemed to have the options above. You of course may look at them, and say naaa - don't like it!
If you don't know GIMP, [link] has the essence.

Good luck!

I re-edited it in Picnik, since I don't have GIMP Don't know if you can tell any difference, but when you compare the pictures, the drops are much clearer

I think it does have more 'snap' like this.
I don't know Picnik, but it seems to have done the job - and that's what counts!
