Description
The transformation chambers closed and commenced a low-pitched humming. The Pale Duchess directed Shadow Koi to shackle the inert form of Torment to a nearby chair and then placed a strange claw-like sensor over her bag-covered head.

"There now! It will take a bit of time but I will learn what makes you tick and then I'll modify my own brain so that I can duplicate your ability to influence the emotions of others."

"Will she be made a sister to this girl?" Dark Britannia asks.

"Perhaps. She lacks your physical might and connection to magic. If I can gain her power I don't really need her. I think it more likely that she'll be a play thing for you and your sister until you tire of her. Then she will be disposed of." The Pale Duchess turned to Shadow Koi and said, "Come now, you haven't been properly introduced to my recreation room as has your sister."

"May this girl be invited as well?" Dark Britannia asks.

"I would prefer you to remain vigilant here near the transformation chambers while our captives are changed and Torment is scanned. Be certain to call me if any of the equipment alarms." The Pale Duchess and Shadow Koi departed.

A glimmer of consciousness returned to Torment. "They've blinded me somehow!" She thought. "But even though I cannot see her I sense the mind I last touched is nearby!"
