Description >>SPLASH!!<<

The terrific impact with the cold cavern water is not enough to revive the senseless maiden of might!

Molly's art notes: This one took a lot of work, but was a LOT of fun to make. It was rendered in Poser Pro 2012 in multiple layers to make messing with it in Photoshop easier. The waterline and splash was mostly Photoshop using some very cool brushes that can be found at Daz3D [link] . We have a lot of Ron's brushes in our Photoshop and I definitely recommend them. With the layers I imported from Poser and those I added to do the splash of Madame American entering the water I had more than 20 layers going, I think.

I used to use about twenty layers almost every time I used to work in Photoshop or Paint tool sai myself. I totally understand a huge usage in layers. I've had others who say that's way too many,,, But the end result is the same whether you use many or not, and it's LOADS easier to use many. If you don't like having as many, condense the layers that won't matter too much.

I think this picture looks nice and really convey's the feeling of what you're going for. Keep up the awesome work!

PS: I'd like to see more work on the Rusty story, where she threw the other girl down the endless pit.

Thanks, Joshua. I figure I'll use as many layers as I need and it DOES make things loads easier. I'm very pleased you like the picture as it was an exciting one for me to envision and then realize.

I will return to Rusty and the Deviant Dolls soon. After all, Etherea and Ariona are still taunting the Mad One.

Water is difficult, Tania. If you use Photoshop here are some things that I learned from my reading that help. First of all, I rendered my whole picture, and then I turned off parts and rendered the background without Madame America, then Madame America without the background and then a couple of versions with underwater lighting... I had 4 different renders saved as .psd files, each to use as a layer in Photoshop.

I opened all those renderings and copied a layer from each and combined them all into a nice file with like 8 layers of the various renderings. I then added new blank layers (some behind Madame America and some in front of her) and used the brushes with splashes and bubbles and stuff on the layers to build up the splash in the water and all the bubbles below it. Mike has a bunch of brushes for bubbles and stuff in Photoshop, but I mostly used one I just found at Daz3D which I mentioned above: [link] . I HIGHLY recommend it. So some of the splash was on layers behind the Madame America layer and some were on layers in front of it. Then I messed with the layers, changing opacity and erasing and stuff until I got the splash and bubbles pretty much the way I saw it in my head.

...heh....

...and yes! Poor Madame America!

That looks like a really great product. We got Ron's Explosions and I have used it a couple of times and the results were not as good as some but I was really impressed. If I were going to do more water pictures, that would be something great to have!

Heh. Yes indeed! I do like my cliff hangers and that does remind me a bit of the ol' Batman show in TV.

Thank you! It took me more than an hour of fussing, but I'm really pleased with it too! I did my little stick figure sketch and them managed to make the picture I envisioned without much compromise.... It really, really pleases me and especially pleases me that you took the time to comment, my dear!

Great job on the effects, but what is going to happen to our poor heroine now that she is utterly defenseless?

I suppose that they are going to have to fight over who gets the honor of pulling her out... I'm not sure I know who to cheer for.

Well the orc will just chain her back up for later and the spider will probably try to eat her and is just downright spooky so I guess the orc...hehe
