Legends claim that it was discovered by sailors out at sea, who initially believed it to have been a Dewgong, but its beautiful song revealed it to be something else. These sailors never returned to tell the tale.
Dewsong uses the dew that surrounds its body to bend light, causing it to appear to be something else to those who look at it. It uses this trick to lure in prey before tearing them to shreds with its terrifying teeth.
DNA analysis revealed that Dewsong is a close relative of Milotic, Gorebyss and Gyarados. Surprisingly, some genetic resemblance to Dewgong has been found.
