No Froggy...
In the supposed years between the then and now, it can be assumed that Froggy passed away. He lived a good and full life for a frog, and his pal, Big, keeps the fishing lure which looks like Froggy on a necklace to keep it safe, and remind him of his good friend~
The Flicky in the picture is, conveniently enough, named "Buddy". Though Buddy may never "replace" Froggy, Big takes good care of the little bird, who looks after Big in return.
