Description Medium: Illustrator, Digital Camera.

This was a project originally designed in Art Direction. I wanted to imitate something of a 1940–1960s Bauhaus look while still keeping it mine. The assignment then was to make a series of posters, and with this particular piece, I wanted it to seem cold and distant, yet futuristic and modern, to contrast the old Shakespearean play itself. This poster won when it came down to picking one to put in my portfolio.

The model for my image is . I wanted to stick with something monochromatic with a full range of values. It took me way too long to figure out that there is a Darken setting under transparencies, and even then, I had to experiment with how the actual print would come out compared to how it looked on screen. The photo was taken with a Kodak 3.0 MP digital camera, and the inking, coloring and shading was done in Illustrator CS with a WACOM Intuos2 tablet.

The whole poster has gone through a number of font changes, but I finally decided upon Eurostile for the normal text with point size ranging from 20 to 35. The title is Armor Piercing for the title at 242pt.
