Description
Random manga picture, done entirely for the composition, illogic, and curves. I haven't done senseless anime for 2 years, gimme a break.Inspired by One Piece, a good manga; that is where the completely unexplainable waves come from. That scroll thinger (which says Tiger Zodiac on it) is an idea of using scrolls for magic, just like in the animated Jackie Chan Adventures - a good cartoon, which is RARE now. Every cartoon on TV sucks nowadays. That is the only one remaining with a senseful script. The tiger part..comes from tigers.
I have a long lasting passion for drawing ribbons...

I *KNOW* who will not like this because it is anime, so don't bother telling me. It's not for you, leave it alone. Don't flame me with "DON'T DRAW THAT CRAP" comments. If I had to throw examples of who, ~HousesOfApollo probably won't like this, and the way John was talking, it sounded like he's insisting this is a waste of my time.
Yes, I'd prefer to draw something logical and meaningful, but there are times where you can't incorporate both or just don't want to. Drawing a randomly flipping magical woman and waves is my summer break. Oh, and not to claim that most of my other stuff has sense to it, but you get what I mean.Note to self: Get paper that likes ink...

Over 14 hours... I stopped counting time when I forgot it existed. Included a lot of inbetween WHOAs and questioning of whether I'm high or not. This is a great manga picture.
I hate it when people go on about how bad manga is, just because the only stuff close to manga that they're exposed to is crap (pokemon, digimon... then they think they know everything about manga) kind of like rap music. People who draw manga are artists too, and some of them are pretty good.

Well there is quite the more extensive and logical reason why people get so annoyed by it, but those that base it off something like Digimon should burn themselves.

The effect in this picture, aling with the shades and structure reminds me actually more of ancient Japanese pictures rather than anime ones.
The look in the waves is very dydami}c and does really imply a huge sense of movement while her body gives the clear sensetaion it is going to a fast pace. But what I really liked most is the way you colored the backgrounds.
Anime's crap but... For being anime-ish, this piece is really, really cool!!
PS: Anime style's only cool and worth the looks as long as the pictures are as well done as these

I really love the detail. >< It literally made me stare for hours, but you already knew that.
I also think the anatomy and composition is perfectly exicuted. The only thing that bothers me is her left hand. :/ The bigger of the two knuckles would be on the right, not the left, wouldn't they? But..meh.

You showed me an ugly, brainmelting picture before I drew the knuckles and I never fixed them. :/ You're probably right, but it's too late now. I think that hand is screwed up completely, and it's too late to start caring.

amazing waves and the effect on the scroll is great. reminds me of movement in the blade of the immortal manga.

yeh sure, its a great peice but maybe the left arm and her hips could do with a lil work.
to make the left arm sink into the background more it could do with being foreshortened a little and maybe could leave her body a lil further up, you know how when your stretchd out your shoulder sits higher?
also i'm not real sure bout the hips. i think maybe she needs to be twisting more in her trunk? what do you think?

You can't really tell how twisted her hips are thanks to the stupid skirt. I wish I could redraw it now, but it's too late. I'm actually quite happy with the way everything else is. As long as it suggests she's flipping through the air and leaves the right amount of negative space everywhere. It's more complicated than just a figure, but I guess in some sense, you're right about her hips. Her legs do bend, though..
I don't work that way, but I can't blame you for trying. A majority of this site is just anime freaks who like pretty anime pictures with lots of distracting colours and shiny things or blood. It's hard to get decent comments...

As someone who can appreciate every aspect of art, I can truly say that this is amazing. While you say it was inspired by One Piece, It doesn't look like a manga drawing. While the idea has manga incorporated in it, the actual drawing is just fantasy. Quite good!

One area I'd like to improve in myself is in waves and water---and you've nailed some great waves there, i must say. (unless it's a slimy growth reaching for her??)

Realy goos pic. I like athe dynamic composition. The perspective is great. It seems that it was not easy to draw it. Her Body is a little bit strange bit it could be a couse of the "figura serpentinata". It is a realy difficult theme for drawing, but you did well^^
