Description Once upon a time, there was a little dream. No one even knew who had dreamt it, such a little dream it was. The little dream was afraid, "I don't want to disappear like this!" It cried into the surrounding darkness, "How can I make people dream of me?" The little dream thought and thought, and finally came up with an idea. "I can lure a new dreamer into me, and I'll let them create the world!"

The first Alice was a brown haired woman with glittering red eyes, decorated with the mark of a spade. She stood with pride, and held her sharpened blade tightly within her hands. Never once did she hesitate to slay whatever may cross her path, determined to carve her way through the unmarked territory of her Wonderland.  She walked deeper and deeper into the forest, twisting and turning and leaving a bloody trail behind her.  After a short while of walking in this manner, she stumbled upon her own murderous path. A sound came behind her and she was suddenly face-to-face with a little boy. The boy had black hair, pale skin, and was dressed in all white. The child frowned at her and spoke in a soft voice, "I can't have you killing everything in Wonderland. It is unacceptable, a sin, even." At that, the child was gone. Alice scoffed and continued to walk, only to find herself in a sort of cage made of thorn-covered vines. Her right hand, a bright red spade seemingly tattooed on the back, shot out of a gap to try and reach for the sword lying just out of reach. A sound that resembled a door shutting rang through the forest and, as if on cue, everything went silent.

This scene played out in front of the same little boy, and was cut short by a black door with a red spade shutting in front of him. He sighed and moved away from the little window, wandering through his darkness and singing an eerie tune as he held a small doll resembling the now-forgotten Alice.

The first Alice was a wrathful woman of the spade,
And, righteously, she held a sharpened blade within her hands.
Never hesitating to slay all within her way,
Creating paths of blood that followed her through Wonderland.
Deep into the darkened forest, Alice walked the line,
Captured and imprisoned as an embodiment of sin.
If it were not for the murderous wake left behind,
No one would have suspected that she had ever been.

The second Alice was a fragile-minded man, blue hair and eyes contrasting with his near-white skin. A deep blue diamond showed on his cheek, just below his left eye, just like the bloody red spade marked the skin of the first Alice's right hand. He wandered into the town that blossomed in his version of Wonderland. With a smile, he began to sing to himself. People crowded around, eager to hear him sing. Encouraged, he continued on with his songs in the town square. This continued day in, and day out, everyone gathering to hear Alice sing. As he did, though, the people of the little town slowly went mad. Chaos overtook the townspeople and Alice just continued to sing. Not long after, a madman pulled a pistol from within his coat and quickly shot the source of the demented words- Alice. As he lay dying, the crowds surrounded him. The same little boy that confronted the first Alice stood before the dying man and spoke quietly, "The people of Wonderland can't be made insane. It just won't do, not at all." At that, the boy disappeared. The sound of another door shutting rang through the plaza alongside the gasped final breath of the second Alice.

A window closed off with a black door bearing a blue spade, causing the little boy to frown. He was becoming impatient with failures. He needed someone to keep his world alive, to keep him alive. He needed a proper Alice. Without another word, he picked up a doll of the blue-haired man and wandered to the next window, adding another line to his creepy song describing the lives of his Alices.

The second Alice was a fragile man of the diamond,
The broken echo of the lies within demented words.
He sang his twisted melodies to all in Wonderland,
Creating the image of the sick and the disturbed.
Deadly yet so beautiful, a voice just like a rose,
Was shot by a madman who silenced him to death.
A single rose bloomed in his place with no music composed,
With twisted grin, this dying man lay breathing his last breath.

The third Alice was a young girl, the picture of innocence. A green club made itself apparent on her left hand as she began to wander. Teal pigtails cascaded from her head to her hips, blue-green eyes wide with excitement. Alice spun with glee as she wandered the town, people turning to watch her with awe. She was beautiful, none of them could deny. After many conversations, Alice was made the queen of a bizarre green country, one that followed every command without a single question.  She had lasted the longest of the Alices so far, ruling the country until her growing paranoia involving her inevitable demise brought on a disturbing dream that overtook the queen's mind.  Everywhere she looked, the people around her were composed of rotting flesh. Though, despite her madness, she continued to rule. The little boy appeared in the court, watching the previously kind-hearted queen descend deeper and deeper into her madness. He sighed and turned, vanishing once more. Without even noticing, a black door bearing a green club slammed shut on the decaying queen's mad country.

The little boy frowned again. He had been so sure this time. He was so sure that, because she lasted so much longer than the last two, she would be the Alice to keep him alive. With a sigh, he simply picked up the new doll to put it with the others. He had three now, which was two too many in his opinion. Maybe having a single person as his Alice was a bad idea? The little boy sat in darkness, singing to the other two as he made the doll resembling the queen dance.

The third Alice was an innocent young girl of club,
An enchanting, graceful figure in the world of Wonderland.
She charmed the people in the land to her beck and call,
A peculiar country answering to each command.
So she rose into the throne to be the country's queen,
Consumed by paranoia of her own impending death.
Soon the queen succumbed to a dark and nightmarish dream.
Disguised in kindness, loathing fate, she secured her regime.

While the queen ruled in her decaying state, two blonde-haired, blue-eyed children romped happily through a dark hallway. They passed many doors, most of which were a pure white and wouldn't open. However, there were three black ones that would allow entrance. The first held a crimson spade, and the children found a blood soaked forest inside. They walked through this forest, discovering what looked like a prison made of thorns and a rusted blade, until they discovered another black door, this one with a bright blue diamond. With a grin, the two wandered inside and found a tree-filled town. The plaza square had bloodstains in the pavement, and there seemed to be no one out and about. With a shrug, they sat with a grin under a set of trees that shaded a table with a tea set. To their surprise, the tea in the pot was still warm. While the children enjoyed the unexpected treat of tea, a large white rabbit in a waistcoat approached them and handed over a pure white envelope with a green club made of wax keeping it closed. Once opened, it revealed a playing card was being held inside. The card that the two had discovered was a yellow ace of hearts.

The dream sang as he watched, smiling. These two were going to succeed, he could feel it.

And as this passed, two children walked in the woods.
Partaking in tea underneath the trees, they'd never part.
They found an invitation to the queen,
It was the Ace of Hearts!

The fourth Alice wasn't one person, but two. A set of twins, to be precise, filled this role. With a thick-headed older sister, bearing one half of the yellow heart on her right hand, and a wise younger brother, with the other half of their suit on his right, the two made their way through Wonderland.  While lost in this unfamiliar territory, an undeniable curiosity engulfed them both. Almost recklessly, they ran through the open doors once more. Discovering the bloodied forest again, the seemingly empty little town, and even the green country with a queen that ruled in death.  Excited laughter trailed behind them everywhere they went as they ran through the only white door that would open for them.  A giant hedge maze was in front of them, and they excitedly rushed forwards. As they ran, they often got even more lost, not even remembering the boat that had brought them to this odd world. Sister and brother came close to the exit, and the reward of the land they'd always dreamed of inhabiting, but took a wrong turn and threw themselves back into the heart of the maze.  The little boy in white stood at the exit, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the two. As he waited, he saw that they got themselves lost again, and cried out in his soft, quivering voice, "No! You're so close, just come this way!" But, the twins didn't hear a word. They ran through the maze, none the wiser to the child as he faded into nothingness with two more dolls in hand.  A set of double doors turned an inky black, the only color showing was the yellow heart representing the lost children beyond.

He huffed in anger. They were so close! So close to being his Alice, but they failed him too. The boy angrily tossed the dolls to the ground with the others. He sat in silence, talking to himself like he'd been doing before this idea even struck him. "I don't want to disappear. I tried bringing people into me, but so far, they've all failed! What can I do now? At this rate, I'm sure to vanish! I'm so small and weak as it is… I need someone who can make me strong. Someone is bound to come along, right?" Slowly, the little dream rose to his feet and stood with newfound confidence. The last lines of his tune flowed from his mouth in pure glee.

The fourth Alice was a duo of curiosity,
Both where lost and could not find the boat where they began.
And so they ran through countless open doors so recklessly,
A brother and a sister running wild through Wonderland.
A stubborn elder sister,
A witty younger brother,
They were closest to being the Alice of Wonderland!

His cheer stopped short as he spotted the next person to enter his hall. A wicked grin spread onto the boy's face as he clutched a new little doll close. This little girl was his last hope, and she was going to succeed. No matter what it may take.
They were never woken from their terrifying dream,
Forever, they would wander this twisted fairy tale!

A little blonde girl stood nervously in the little room. Her name was Alice, the fifth in line, and she had no idea of the past of this room. No idea how many people it held before her, and no clue how the little black spades adorning the underside of her foot would decide her fate.

Who is the next Alice?

While it would be awesome if the girl I mentioned at the end were Neru, she isn't.
She's Lewis Carol's Alice.
The girl we all know from Alice in Wonderland.
However, the Alices (in order) are Meiko, Kaito, Miku, Rin/Len(from the actual song), and Alice herself.
