Description
It was a calm, cool evening when T'Challa woke up. Surprisingly, that was his problem; it was cool. Too cool. Almost cold.

The king's brow furrowed, blinking rapidly in an attempt to adjust to the darkness. The air was crisp, and his sheets felt practically nonexistant. T'Challa reached down, searching for the bedding that was normally great at keeping him warm. When his hands grasped nothing, he realized that was the problem.

"(Name)..." He mumbled groggily, tilting his head to find you perfectly snug, wrapped up in all of the blankets he normally had around him. "...Umfazi*..."

You didn't even stir. T'Challa sighed, squeezing his eyes shut and turning on his side. He tried as carefully as he could to unwrap you, but you weren't budging. T'Challa shivered against the cold, African air seeping in from the barely cracked windows. Normally, he didn't mind. You did enjoy a little fresh air while you slept. But when the nights were freezing no matter the season, he was beginning to slowly regret that decision.

"(Name)." He touched your shoulder, shaking you gently. It took a few tries before you finally acknowledged, mumbling something incoherent. "Wake up, pelonomi*."

"Mmph." Your response was far less romantic, but he was too cold to care. He took hold of one of the blankets, tugging lightly. "...Wha's wrong?"

"It is cold, and you hvae taken all of my sheets." He explained tiredly, "Are you willing to share...?"

"Mmm...no." You replied with a sleepy giggle, making him groan. "Deal with it."

"That is not fair, Umfazi."

"But I'm much colder than you." You reasoned, peeking out from under the blankets. You wouldn't deny the pleasant view of T'Challa's sparse sleeping clothes, his bare chest a lovely sight even in the darkness. "What if I catch a cold because I don't have enough blankets to keep me warm?"

"There are other methods to keeping warm than stealing all of the blankets." He grumbled, and you quirked an eyebrow.

"Explain?"

In a single movement, T'Challa pulled the blankets off of you, sending them flying into the air. You yelped when the cold air snapped at your skin, but not before you were pulled into T'Challa's chest. Just as his arms wrapped around your waist, the blankets fluttered back to earth, settling over the both of your heads. You squinted up at your husband, who looked rather pleased with himself.

"How was that for an explanation?"

"I think you're enjoying your 'kitty reflexes' too much, Ikati*."

"I do not think you enjoy them enough." T'Challa murmured, amusement alight in his beautiful brown eyes as he pecked your forehead. "I hope you are warm enough, now."

"I guess I'll survive." You chuckled, nuzzling against his neck sweetly. T'Challa smiled sweetly, closing his eyes. He nestled his chin on top of your head, sighing in content. "Guess I'm stuck here anyway, huh?"

"Busuku benzolo*." He whispered, already slipping off to dreamland.

"Goodnight, Umyeni*."

And it was, until you woke up with cramps from having a young king latched onto you all night.
