The last one is one of those funny little misconceptions, because it actually started with aΒ Superman parody and was never used by Superman properly. Good art, though.

Actually, that model of Police Box was out of date for a while before the show implemented it. I think they used it to add an extra charm to it.
Anyways, really nice pice. I recognize all three, I think.

Ah, Bill and Ted... I'm surprised so few people know who they are. I loved that movie as a kid.

McGann was great, too bad he only did that TV movie and that mini episode... would have loved to have seen him do a few seasons.Β
McCoy wasn't that great, it was kinda near the end of the Dr who series before it was on hold for a few years... should check Tom Baker out. Bit cheesy for effects, but the stories were way better than the current Dr Who episodes.

What a shame so few recognize the Bill & Ted phone booth.
And an even greater shame these are mostly ripped out.
While on one my first trips out completely alone to NYC, I left my phone in my moms car (it fell out of my pocket). When I realized what happened, panicked, and got off at the next train station I ran frantically around looking for a pay phone. Half-way to tears, realizing I would soon have to ask people for their phones I asked strangers if any pay phones were around. Finally I asked a lady to borrow her phone, she snapped at me so fast I damn near cried in front of her...Finally I went into a store, asked the lady at the counter for a pay phone. SheΒ must have taken pity on me, because she exchanged my dollars for quarters out of her own pocket and told me to have a wonderful day while smiling (the tears were probably in my eyes by then). Happy endings all around but man if all the pay phones are ripped out soon I feel terrible for people who might go through this...I would have been very screwed otherwise..

At the center of my town there's a payphone. Most people only use it to see if it's still operational though.

Hawaii still has actual pay phones haha I was completely blown away when I saw them on my visit recently. Nj however, has NONE, they've all been ripped out.
and omfg Bill and Ted, I thought that was their booth! EXCELLENT!

Actually, it's funny you say the telephone booth is the end of an era, because today I had special circumstances that could have been remedied by using a pay phone! Too bad they're so dang hard to find these days.

Well, the Police Box disappeared from most of Britain's towns and cities long before mobile phones became the norm, but still, nice little homage here.
Heh, thinking of Superman reminds me of the joke in one of the films where he goes to find a phone box to change but they've been replaced by those open phone booths.
There are still some phone boxes about though, at train stations mainly, where someone might need a taxi but have lost their mobile, and where there are guards to shoo off the vandals, and in a few streets near where I live we even have the classic red phone box.

Tell me about it. I'm a Dallas resident, and 2 out of every 3 pay phone boxes have the units completely ripped out. The only intact ones I find are at transit stations, a few backwater neighborhoods, and occasionally in malls.
