Would you look at that, canon designs for OC's :0!
Here's two wonderful ones, Raboras(h)ka and Khaal/Life!
Warning, lot of text coming up
So, Khaal was created by Satan and God (small collaborative effort that succeeded for once) for the purpose of keeping track of everything living and dying. He was rather powerful, seeing as none of them had any idea what they were doing, they just didn't want to keep track of that, though keeping the world in balance was sorta their job.
Being a tall and quite recognizable stag with white antlers and sprouting flowers wherever he walked, people had no trouble spotting him. Being a man preferring his peace and quiet, he made himself a place called the Garden of Life. Here he stayed the most of his time, tending the area, which was filled with mythical wonders, such as the waterfall of youth and the golden apples which expanded ones lifespan.
I suppose Khaal was rather powerful, his smarts let him outlive them both in fact (well, they still live, but they got reincarnated).
He later gave up the domain of death to an apprentice he chose (one names Ehlyze), since he himself didn't want to deal with all that had been thrown in his direction.
In reality, he is certainly one of the smarter god to ever have existed in the realm of Rhelicha, and is still living quite well to this very day.
However in his youth, the God got himself tangled into some trouble. A good friend of his, Mother of the Waters; Aquaas, got her four children.
Ciraquaas: Mother of Mermaids
Kraken: Mother of Cecaelias
Evelin : Mother of Crusteceans
Xheva: Mother of Cleapeias (Seaslugs and other creatures alike, as well as what the previous godesses did not cover)
Being good friends with Aquaas, Khaal Of course got the meet the young goddesses, and Kraken in particular caught his attention.
Being the most daring and passionate, she balanced his calmness and serenity rather well.
It was not long, or rather, it did not feel as long, before Khaal feel in love with Kraken. To his surprise, the Cecaelia returned his feelings and with the blessing of Aquaas, the two moved into a loving relationship. At this point Khaal changed his form to a more humanoid one, so he could spend his time more easily with Kraken, and Kraken in return learned how to properly manage legs, so she could visit Khaal as well.
With a love that only grew stronger and stronger each year, Khaal and Kraken were very close despite the difference in elements. Though Khaal offered Kraken to live in his garden, she felt most at home in the darkness of the sea with the illuminating creatures, shining in the dark.
Each time she would try to stay in the garden, the nightsky and it's brilliant starts made her nostalgic and longing for her own home.
And as for Khaal, while he tried his best to be with her, the chaotic and dark sea with it's wild sea currents could do nothing but make him feel foreign and far from home, despite being by his love.
Living apart was, while a bit troublesome, alright for the two of them, only making it that much harder to part, whenever they saw each other.
With the wildness the sea, and the kids of which Kraken was mother to, the love she bore for Khaal made her heart bigger, and as they had children of her own, it was harder for Kraken to rule sternly over a species as chaotic as herself.
Her love and care, which had yet to be learned by her own kind, was the reason she died, as they did not share the familiar love, that she had shown them over the years.
Enraged by the loss of his love, Khaal sought revenge on the ones who had killed his love, yet when he had the chance, he realized that there was no way he could kill the children that she had loved so much. He would not be taking life away from them, as they had done to Kraken.
He could not bring her back, for the distance between them had mad ehim unaware of when she dies, and when he had finally realized, her soul was long gone and reborn.
With tears of bitterness and anger, he did not leave his garden. Khaal was filled with a hatred. His tears of anger spread in the blessed garden and eventually gave life to the Arageons, a species of agressive and violence behavior.
As the anger dissapeared, the tears would however not stop. A deep sadness and hopelessness made him cry once agian, just as long.
From those, a species called the Seviados was born, ones filled with an unwillingness to let go of the past and mourn those lost. Akin to the dislike and hatred he bore for his inability to move on or act, the two species, who were moved far away form the Garden of Life, hated each other. Still to this very day, the species are in constant discourse with each other.
Khaal, who finally had let go of so much negativity, could still not move on.
In a desperate attempt to bring back the love of his life, he attempted to bring her back to life. The best he could do at the time, was to let her soul reincarnate.
He wanted to make her immortal, make sure she didn't die, unless she wished to do so herself, but as he found Kraken again she had changed.
While the wild and chaotic traits was still in her reincarnation, she was nothing like she used to be.
First off, she wasn't a female, he was a guy.
Raboraska was wild and powerful seawitch, who used their great magical powers to sell deals, seals and potions to others. He was a big, creature and alike all other cecaelias had a darker and rougher attitude.
Raboraska not only embraces the iconic traits of his kind, they were amplified by the enormous powers he possesed as well.
Being a Goddess reborn, he still harbored so many abilities that he mostly used on selfish projects.
When Khaal approached him however, the cecaelia immediately recognized him, not only from tales and stories, but from the memories of Kraken, which had been burried.
The instantaneous affection that Khaal made Raboraska feel, did not only feel unnatural, it felt intimidating.
The God of Life was dissapointed to say the least, but having worked in that job for years, he knew Kraken wouldn't be there. It wasn't quite the same, and it likely never would be.
Still, he could not let the last of Kraken dissapear, especially since Kraken seemed to recognize him and remember a bit of his previous life
Khaal proposed for Raboraska to obtain eternal life, even if Raboraska wanted nothing to do with him. He would do the best he could to protect Raboraska from harm.
Being that Raboraska saw this as an excellent deal, being that immortallity sounded rather attractive, he agreed. It would be wrong to say that he wans't also intruiged and interested in a creature who made him feel like this.
Khaal, who had never done something quite like this before did his best to figure out how to go about it, and with Raboraska being quite an expert in seals and pacts, he offered that they made one. In a form of a marriage, or sorts.
Hesitant of whether it was a good idea, yet eager to help, Khaal agreed, offering a ring to Raboraska. He was always to wear this, to protect him from harm.
Asking for immortality and no death by old age is one thing. Asking for him not to be die by any hands, even another god's is something else.
Raboraska most certainly had to give something in return.
Something valueable, something that could make up for infinite lifetime and which mattered.
So Raboraska gave up his ability to love romantically for the rest of his life.
Khaal and Raboraska has their separate lives, and though the memories of Kraken hurts, Khaal has moved mostly past it. As much as Raboraska most certainly isn't Kraken, he is grateful to have someone to talk to.
Though they don't speak about making a relationship happen, mostly because Khaal isn't attracted to Raboraska in the same fashion, they have still gotten a few kids together. Perhaps to try re-kindle a fire that was long ago burnt out... Or maybe start a new.
Either way, Khaal doesn't feel the same, and the same can most certainly also be said about Raboraska, who cannot love Khaal as much as the cecaelia suspect Khaal wants him to.
They're at least good and close friends though, and sometimes Khaal finds it a bit hard to tell where the limit stops with the wild and fun mess that is Raboraska.
He still bears a striking resemblance to his late love, and even though Raboraska pretends he is nothing more than an emotionless sass-storm, he cares for Khaal's well-being.
Raboraska often goes visit Khaal and even tries to carry more of his children, as the slightly mad and power-crazed sea-witch has realized how powerful their children are. However mostly he is just teasing him, and prodding him gently about it, seeing as he at least can offer physical intimacy, as Raboraska himself puts it.
Khaal really isn't into the whole, sleeping with a guy who shapeshifts and is waaaay too comfortable being a meaty big tentacle guy with a troublesome attitude.
Then again they did actually get a few children after that whole ordeal, so what do I know about Khaal preferences. Maybe he is just in denial.
He is might also be slightly afraid of falling back into a depressing state wishing to have Kraken back, when he cannot.
Honestly though, he enjoys Raboraska's company.
Raboraksa likes to tease Khaal that he'll keep the ring on forever, so that Khaal will have to deal with him for all eternity, but in reality, should the ring ever slip off, Khaal would bring him back immediately.
He just lets Raboraska believe that he isn't all that fond of him.
Also Khaal has learnt his lessons and rarely changes back to humanoid form, for each time he does, Raboraska lays extra thick onto the seducing and flirting.
Also Khaal admittedly falls a bit back into his younger teen-like mindset where the promise of love and affection is really tempting.
There's no need to make Raboraska more irresistable, in Khaal's opinion.
Despite the initial impression one could get, that they don't like each other, they share a deep bond; one that neither Khaal nor Raboraska really have had after the loss of Kraken.
Either way I am really happy that I got them drawn and wrote/brainstormed about them a bit! I would love to draw them in their original forms, Raboraska as a cecaelia and Khaal in his stag form, but b O I , not ready for that quite yet haha!
