So I'm walking out on the trails about to pass out and thinking what kind of idiot walks around in this hideous weather when I hear a rustle on my left. It's a red tailed hawk! He let me get a couple of shots in before flying off.Related content

It was around 102F and humid as heck, but typical for Las Vegas in August. I think the hawk was feeling it just as bad as I was!

This was pure luck. I was so miserable from the 104F degree heat and high humidity that I thought I was hallucinating seeing one right next to me like that. It was pretty awesome.
