It takes a lot of time to get good. You definitely need to practice regularly, i suggest everyday. And donβt expect instant results! Everything you learn is a small victory.

I do use photoshop to draw! As for the brushes I used...Β Do you know Shiyoon Kim? He's a fantastic character designer working for disney, and his sketchy ink style is kind of his trademark. You can get his brushes here:Β gumroad.com/l/shiyoonink They're not for free, but they're definitely great! Your decision if they're worth the 10$. If you don't want to spend any money I recommend Ramonn60's brushpack, which is pay-what-you-want:Β gumroad.com/ramonn90

And it shows! It's so nice to see others embracing the sketches - they hold a lot of information that I'm always afraid gets lost when you line it. I'm much more comfortable drawing sketchy, but I always got conflicting thoughts and ideas on sketches growing up. But I'm not in art school anymore so freedom is finally with me!
