I am so excited for this movie! Though I will be honest, the story doesn’t seem very exciting at first glance, but there’s some movies out there which you don’t watch for the story, and the visuals of this thing from the trailer alone are just MINDBLOWINGReference:

I absolutely love the brushes you used here, Max I wasn't planning on seeing this film, but every time I find a trailer of it I can't help but marvel at how fly it looks. And you got the color palette JUST right!

Yeah, I wanna watch it for the same reason. Its just so cool looking. I love movies where you can recognize just how much effort went into the looks of things. Its one of the main reason why I love Zootopia so much.

Nope! I am talking about Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. If you haven't heard of it, its an animated movie about the ultimate spiderman, Miles Morales, and it tells some sort of multiverse variant on the typical spidey origin story. To be honest the story is not what appeals to me about the movie. I just love the look of the film, and I know a lot of fantastic artists who were part of designing it. The artbook is definitely something to look forward to, if they get it right!
As for the venom movie... Idk, it looks kinda bland? From the trailers it doesn't really look like it will do justice to the character of venom. And partly it just... really weirdly comedic? When you don't think it wants to be comedic? Its an odd mix, idk, maybe it will be great.

Couldn't disagree more, eye candy without the mind nourishing content is nothing. After a while has passed and the visuals have been outdated, it comes self evident to all.

I am talking about stylized imagery, not realism. The difference is that Realistic images tend to look outdated after some time, but a stylized movie, if done correctly, can be ageless. That's why even the ancient disney animations like Pinocchio or Snow White still hold up as beautiful movies today (even though they don't have the BEST stories)

Sure the "ancient" hand drawn cartoons always hold their place and i think that it definitely is mainly because of the stories, the themes and the "soul" that usually are love and caring like in two that you mentioned. Their visuals are very dated but the inner content holds and that is what i'm after.
To me, the delicious beef and the soul of the work comes always before the way that they are presented and brought out with. In music, the lyrics and the message department is naturally most valued to muaa.
There is a great saying : "Art for art's sake is an empty phrase. Art for the sake of truth, art for the sake of the good and the beautiful, that is the faith i am searching for."
