towards the end of the movie, when the suitors were claiming their right to choose who'd they want to marry and young Macguffin made that little jibber-jabber and everyone else was all "wtf?" and Merida giggled, I was all :"Connection!! She understood him!!! They're gonna be together!!!!
I couldn't see her with young Macentosh(sp?) cuz he kinda had a player-vibe to me, and young Grimwal(sp?) just seemed too simple for her, not that there's anything wrong with simple guys. young Macguffin kinda reminded me of a younger, gentler, shyer version of Fergus, and I thought it would have been fitting/really effing cute if Merida had chosen him.

Truth! I was all for the Merida-Hiccup idea before seeing the movie, but from the moment the suitors were introduced, I was all, 'she's definitely interested in that guy!', and then there was his speech at the end and her reaction.... I could never look back! xD I was delirious but not so surprised when I found out that the creators had meant for Merida to end up with him all along... ;]

Actually, in an interview with the voice actors it was revealed that in the original script Merida DID choose MacGuffin before it was decided that she would be allowed to break tradition, but they thought that took away too much from the message of the movie so they edited it out for the final version.

I know! Which is a shame, cause I think her being in love with one of her suitors would have really added a whole new dimension to her wanting to break from traditions; that even when she could have easily chosen one of them anyway, she wouldn't do so just because it's her lady's duty. Basically what I'd have liked to see in the movie: romance-yes; marriage-not yet. Just the kind of subplot to keep the story from being too linear!

Love it! Actually he's the one of the three who I guess has more posibilities of end with Merida. Wich dosen't say to much of the others. Your style is very good, and I love the colors of your paintings!
