Description One of the most common roles sin'lyans play in L'arc is the job of a guide - they know every path and every secret hideout. You can throw a sin'lyan path-rat into Greentains and they will cross it all without being spotted even by the most skilled birdman guardians.

Path-rats are usually marked at birth - they see light of their first day with white patterns around their body. It usually connotates a calmer character, children capable of mercy and compassion, while un-marked sin'lyans are known for their file-of-a-character. Marked children are usually much raised and educated separately from the un-marked, as they show more intellectual tendencies and require more theory and knowledge. Un-marked children go through more physical training, educated in martial arts and different types of weaponry custom to all cultures of L'arc, while path-rats are raised with minimum combat and maximum survival training alongside their education.

Fun fact: there's no correlation between gender of the child and the baring of markings. However gender does affect where children will develop markings.
