"Release the Kraken!!!"I love Ray Harryhausen films and the original "Clash of the Titans" is one of personal favs. I remember seeing it in the theater as a kid and totally being freaked out by Medusa and those giant scorpions...now almost 30 years later the remake is coming out. At first i was skeptical, but then I saw the trailers. While I will always adore the original, this new one looks pretty sweet... let's hope it doesn't suck.

I am saddened by you description thing for two reasons... reason one, the new movie sucked balls.... reason two, I didn't get to see this come out in theaters, I was not born yet

i just watched that 3 nights ago wih my mom bcz me and her r ancient greek die hards!(but i love greek gods more then her!).my mom told me when she was in high school she had to watch the original oe an ad to right a report on i in legends class.now she's gunna be 42!wow that movie is old!!

I just saw this last night with my dad, he got it on Dvd. I am very worried about seeing the new version, for cgi seems to be the only thing directors are wanting done right than anything else

I got a chance when I attended the 1987 World Science-Fiction Convention in Brighton, UK, to meet with and spend some face time with Mr. Harryhausen. Because of the nature of the material he had to use so they could be done in stop-motion, the original models long since decayed away. He had to have them molded and cast in bronze to have a permanent record of what they once were like. It was impressive to see just how small many of these models where. The Kraken was only 2.5 feet tall, the Medusa's torso about 9 inches, etc.

I love it when you do these, Dave, that Kraken is great. Have you done one of these for King Kong? Couldn't remember. Not that I want to impose suggestions on you, but that would be really cool in this format.

Haven't done one for Kong one yet, but that is a good idea. I did put him in the "Godzilla and Fiends" piece I did a while back.
I am also tempted to do one for Jason and the Argonauts, I dig those skeletons.

Jason and the Argonauts is my favourite Harryhausen movie! But this one really lends itself to this kind of sketch with all its creatures, great work!
