Part of my Final Major Project at uni. I'm currently designing the concept art for a game based around a bunch of planets that are fractured and mixed together like a mosaic. I will provide more details later.

This is a carbon planet; A planet that could possibly exist in our Universe. Its most interesting aspect is that scientists propose that such planets may have a layer of diamond beneath the crust where the carbon is compressed under immense heat and pressure. You can find out more here: [link]

Mine looks nowhere near as good as "official" carbon planet art. I used a photo of a scratched up pan that I took as the base texture. I'm using this tutorial currently but I'm not very good at it...I think it's because it's not really going over non-terrestrial planets... Any advice, links or critique would be greatly appreciated!
