I. HATE. MY. SCANNER.anyway.
one DB fanart again!!! I usually don't draw much fanarts for 2 reasons:
1- I think original is cooler than fanart, and it can show one's real style
2- I'm not good enough at drawing
but I did it again, and I really had fun.
for 's contest - "draw your favorite Funimation character(s) in a summer-y situation" <3

Watch out for proportions, they're my main qualm here.
Besides that, try and work on thinking ahead with your colors, think what would contrast well and what would blend together a bit.
Just work on little techniques, it seems you've gotten the idea

mk, critiquing time. keep note that my critiques are meant to be objective and by no means offensive. mk? lets roll.
the coloring is really rather nice and solid, and though you said you hate your scanner, you seem to have colored thick enough anyway to prevent most white spots and such from showing up in the coloring. the hues on the colors for the shading also turned out great
the expressions are spot on, though bulma's reaction needs to be bigger, and it just looks a bit awkward without the emphasis for one of those OMFG WTH reactions.
the whale's my biggest qualm with this. it's hard to tell that the mouth of the whale is actually a mouth at first, and it comes off almost looking like a big red nose with a heart on the middle. also, the water spouting out has weird placement and as a result seems to actually be coming out of Goku, not the whale. I do like how you did the whale eyes to look like he's crying though
now maybe the sand is why you hate your scanner, because here it looks to dark and dirt like, but that may've been just the scanner, and you did in fact color it the right hue.
the umbrella is both too small and too short. the hearts also seem messy on the umbrella design, so watch out for that.
the outline around the whole picture looks good, though it looks awkward how there's a gap in it around his hair area. bulma's hair blends in with the ocean a bit too much, which isn't good, but I do like how you drew the sun.
so, to sum up, this is a rather good fan art and theme, just fine tune some of your techniques and work on your composition a bit, and you're good to go
