“_______” Alfred said in a singsong voice, you didn’t even look up from your book.

“Yes, yes, just tell me when it’s my turn” you said waving him off.

It was your favorite part, the heroine was about to make her decision between life and death she chose the right way of course but still your pulse pounded, you felt dizzy, and butterflies filling your stomach.

You were sort of playing spin the bottle at your house, it was your birthday party and of all the people invited, you were the wallflower. Just standing in your place and reading your book, your attitude towards the whole thing was one of indifference.

You couldn’t wait to tell your best friend Berwald about this book!
Berwald was just like any other friend any other person had, except, you had never met him, or phoned him, or Skyped him, ever.

You two had met in an online book club sort of thing three years ago. You became quick friends but he didn’t have Skype and he politely said that he didn’t like to talk on the phone; he preferred face-to-face interaction or word messaging.

You were ok with that; except he lived; hundreds of miles away from you. So face-to-face was absolutely out of the question.

Truth-be-told you were falling in love with him but you know chatting ‘I love you’ with someone, you’ve never really met practically spells ‘A-W-K-W-A-R-D.’

you heard Alfred quietly conversing with someone then the whirr of the bottle being spun when it faded there was more conversing

“hey! ____! Pay attention!” Alfred said rather sharply

“what, is it my turn?” you looked up.

Across the circle next to Alfred was a tall handsome man with blonde hair and blue eyes. Time slowed down, your heart sped up, you dropped the book, and the sound of it hitting the ground was like thunder in your ears.

“I-I-I-I-I-I” you stuttered.

it was Berwald! He was much more handsome in person than in the photos he sent you, and so very tall.

“B-B-Berwald?!” he smiled slightly you had never seen his smile! Not even in the pictures!

“Hello ______” he said softly Oh. My. Gosh. His voice! So deep and sexy! It made your name sound much more beautiful than it really was. (I swear it scared me half to death when I first heard it, I thought he was a tenor! I swooned it was so deep! *fan girl squeal*)

Alfred grinned “happy birthday! I bought him a plane ticket over here” you barely heard him. You finally noticed that the bottle was pointing at you; your stomach did a few back-flips.

He walked to stand in front of you, his eyes abnormally soft, you opened your mouth to speak but no sound came out.

He gently cupped your face in his hands “happy birthday” he whispered before pressing his lips to yours.

How you kept your footing is a mystery but you honestly didn’t care at the moment.
He pulled away much too soon for your liking, to your shock he got down on one knee clasping your hand in both of his.

“_____, I love you, will you marry m-”

“HELL YES!” you screeched glomping him and peppering his face with kisses.

“I love you too, Berwald!” after about two minutes of this, you released him and glomped Alfred

“I LOVE YOU FOREVER! I’LL PAY BACK EVERY CENT OF THAT PLANE TICKET!” you then proceed to tackle hug everyone in the circle.

When you were finally finished, Berwald was grinning crookedly at you.
You threw your arms around his neck and buried your face in his shirt, then looked back up at him.

“Not meaning to be rude but where’s the ring?” he assumed a sheepish expression

“I thought you’d say no”.
