Description Awwwww yeah baby. I'm oiled up now! Look at this! It's awesome!

I don't have much else to do, so I just figured I'd keep going. I could have just put this aside for tomorrow and said "Oh hai, I drew this 4 u 2day lolz!" but that just wouldn't be honest. At least one a day! So that means I can draw as many as I want a day~

I rather like this one. Anyone who knows me knows I prefer Tifa to Aeris (or Aerith, whatever you wanna call her). There's a certain little 3 panel comic that I'm not going to link to that's in my scraps that I drew a million years ago that shows my dislike for the flower girl, but let's not talk about that. Let's talk about TIFA!

Why is Tifa awesome? Let me count the ways!
- She's kind and motherly, looking out for everyone and always trying her best. She doesn't just crumble when things go bad!
- She's strong in body and spirit! Even after Sephiroth burns down her town and kills her parents, she chases after him to get revenge. And even when she's nearly mortally wounded she doesn't back down after she recovers and trains real hard!
- She's patient with Cloud, letting him come around in his own time and sticking by him no matter how hard things get, even refusing to leave him when he's mako poisoned. She even helps him find himself again!
- She gets to ride in the Chocobo races sometimes! Wark!
- She's also a bartender. That's pretty cool.

And no, I'm not going to mention her boobs... oh wait, I GUESS I JUST DID.

Seriously, Tifa's the bestest! What has that OTHER girl ever done? OH MY GOSH SHE SELLS FLOWERS AND SHE'S KINDA MYSTERIOUS!!1

Wellll... I guess there was that whole "saving the world from meteor" thing, but... I bet if Tifa was given the right chance she could punch that meteor right in the FACE and tell it to "get back mutha effa!" Then it would, like, go back to space and cry or something, and Sephy would be all "Noooooessss you sunk my battleship!" and everyone would live happily ever after! Yay!

... ahem.

Anyway, Tifa doesn't belong to me. She belongs to Square.

(For those not aware, Tifa is a character from Final Fantasy 7)

Honestly, I can't stand Tifa because she bawwwed over Cloud for soooo long and I would have much rather they made it in AC that she got over Cloud completely because I'd imagine i'd like her a lot more if she realized she doesn't NEED a man in her life DX But other than that, she's lovely =3 I've always felt conflicted about it because I like her design or lack of XDD and her hair makes such a pretty presence. Something about how you drew her I really like, it could be the thick lines...Idk good job!

I... can't agree, really. The way I see it I look at their relationship extended over time. They grew up together, he left to become a SOLDIER and she never saw him again until the "accident" at the mako power plant, where he showed up at what she thought was going to be her last moments (if it weren't for her teacher she probably would have died, Cloud appearing was just a last comfort). After that I'd assume she'd think he was dead and she herself would be confused as hell and mad as hell at Sephiroth. Then all of a sudden Cloud shows up on the street and he can't remember anything!

I can understand her maternal nature. Something is really, really wrong with her childhood friend and in order for her to get any peace of mind (and to figure out the rest of what happened and why that day, since she had no idea why Sephiroth suddenly went nuts and burned everything down at the time) she had to take care of him.

So from that point of view Tifa isn't really obsessed with Cloud, she's just extremely worried about what's going on with him, why he's changed so much (because remember, he was a very weak boy back when she knew him as a kid, which is why he wanted to join SOLDIER in the first place and become stronger... though he essentially failed), and why he can't remember anything. I think the romantic aspects of their relationship only come about because it was there when they were kids, and also because of Aerith who acts as a kind of trigger. It's like when you have a crush on a guy/girl at school but never do anything about it until someone else shows an interest in them.

So anyway, what I hope to convey in this picture is the both of them finally coming full circle in a way. She helped Cloud find himself again and now that part of her can relax, and Cloud can finally be the one who's supportive if just for a moment before they have to face the end.

Sorry for the long windedness. DX Maybe I've thought about this too much...

Well I'm not try to convince you of anything, I just don't like the part of Tifa that Cloud brings out I suppose. Sometimes (atleast to me) it feels like she tries too hard to convince herself that Cloud are these things she wants him to be and really in reality he isn't. I dunno, I just think that Tifa needs to stop hoping that Cloud will become that because even if she unconditionally loves(if she still does) him I don't think it's necessarily healthy for her to have to make up for his faults all the time. But that's just my two cents.

YES Tifa how she SHOULD BE: buff, bodacious, and brunette...AKA not ASIAN like in the movie. FTW!!

This is really good. Any plans to color it?

By the way, not that it really matters, but I happen to agree with you on the issue of Tifa and Aeris. I tend don't hate Aeris or anything, but I do find her pretty dull (and because she dies, I don't want to invest anything in her when I play FFVII). Other games did the "mysterious girl" character much better than FFVII did with Aeris, like FFVI with Terra and CT with Marle. Meanwhile, Tifa's so damned awesome that I long ago decided that Cloud probably doesn't deserve her.

It begs for color doesn't it? I'll probably get around to it eventually whenever I'm bored.

And yeah, I don't really hate her either, but lots of things about her character irk me. In my opinion she feels like a purposeful 3rd wheel at times - like in romance-themed anime where there's a guy and two girls suddenly come into his life (there's ALWAYS the childhood friend character, which would be Tifa, and then there's the "new pretty girl"). Besides that, her personality is too carefree for my taste. She doesn't REALLY seem to care about anyone (even when she does show sympathy, it seems more like a passing thought followed by her running around gleefully again). She's just too carefree for my taste I suppose (of course, she might be acting that way because she already knows she's going to die from the very beginning? There's far too many variables...)

Anyway, so yeah. Let's just agree that Tifa is awesome.

Well, it's hard to say Aeris doesn't care about anyone, considering that she surrendered her freedom to ShinRa in exchange for Marlene's safety early in the game. If she was a real person I'd probably like her well enough, but as a character she's just sort of flat and cliched, and I absolutely agree about her feeling like the deliberate third wheel.

But anyway, we can totally agree that Tifa is awesome.
