She looks hot and I've always loved cute sunhats, but those fangs would make me hesitant to talk to her.Β  She might bite your head off.Β

There's nothing to judge her scale against.Β  Homer described the Cyclops as being a giant, so she may be larger than one thinks at first glance.Β

...yes. But that would still have to be a very big scale... *shrugs*
But I don't think she looks like the kind of woman who wants to bite people. I think she looks friendly. =^-^=

I actually agree, she looks quite nice. Just a monster girl out for a day at the beach, perhaps. But I wanted to reference the original legend.

No.
About how America has been reduced to sexualizing everything. Even the most terrifying of monsters come out so attractive-looking nowadays.

Ah, I mean, I wasn't drawing a cyclops of ancient myths, they look quite different from a monster girl who only has one eye. So I'm not sure if this counts exactly, not to say I haven't drawn sexualized monsters, I tend to try to be at least varied between sexy/cute/horrorfying etc. I can't always say the same for western culture ((as you can't just say it's an american thing when it's prevalent in Europe and Australia as well in similar ways, tho there are a few things that are exclusive to the varied cultures between continents))

Okay then.

It just so happened that yesterday, after a post about Old Captain Hook vs Modern Captain Hook, with me commenting on how they make original unattractive characters more attractive nowadays, led to this conversation about how even Americans now sexualize anything nowadays, even down to Halloween costumes for adults.

True, we're not the only culture that does it; Japan is EXTREME in this sort of thing. And even Mexican programs have attractive female models posing around in game shows. There's even a Mexican soap-opera where the little girls happen to wear belly shirts the majority of the time, as well as other pop outfits.

I was just commenting on the fact that character looks seem to draw more attention when they're made good-looking and even rather sexy. And it seems like this is all America wants nowadays. It's no longer about designs matching character intentions/motivations/personalities. It's all about the good-looking image of a certain character that has the girls/guys falling for them.
And the sad thing is, even some people on DA draw famous characters or even their own OCs in rather revealing outfits or suggestive poses that draw attention. And even when their characters aren't designed to be sexy, there are users who leave perverted comments.

To be fair, though, I don't really often find females in bikinis that attractive at all, so I at least have respect for women there.

Moonlight-pendent13 In reply to JIMENOPOLIX [2016-10-23 16:16:40 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, I know that whenever I draw a woman or someone with a feminine appearance, whether they are showing any skin, nude, whichever I get sexualized comments on it.

Wait wait wait, that last line has me confused, so is what you're saying that since you don't find women in bikinis attractive, you can have respect for them? but if you find them attractive you have less respect?? I'm confused by that wording you used.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JIMENOPOLIX In reply to Moonlight-pendent13 [2016-10-23 16:25:07 +0000 UTC]

Well, yeah. There are just so many perverts out of there, having fantasies about what they would do if they could meet certain "sexy" characters that they see on the screen.
--
Ugh. Curse my poor choice of words.

What I mean is that I have more respect for women in general seeing how their attractiveness isn't my #1 priority.
Even if I do find them attractive, I would still respect them as people and not objects.

So even in bikinis, I don't think about "sex" when I look at them. And they might thank me for that, as I suppose none of them are looking to get laid with someone while at the pool or beach.

And even when dressed in a manner that I do kinda find attractive, I still respect them as people. Usually other guys look at a lady and just start calling out on how sexy she looks and playfully tease the woman with their comments and such. But not me. I'd just talk to the woman like any other person I talk to: normal.
