Autumn, the season of harvesting! (lol finally I can use this emoticon xD) This year I went for the second time grape picking, and I think it was fun
I'm afraid of bees, but otherwise I had a great time My pic is showing the garden where I have been, however I put there my own characters. And you know what? The sketch of this drawing is from last years grape picking! hehe I made just a few changes^^
I wanted to show the feeling of autumn I got when I was grape picking. Slowly but surely I can say goodbye to the nice weather for some months. I tried not to use too bright colors and had a hard time again correcting the colors after scanning.
Also, I'm trying to work more on my drawings and submit more drawings to DA. I'm also considering doing a tumblr ^^
I decided to request critiques because I hope to improve my skills. Still, please go easy on me!
Time: ~20 hours (hard to tell >.<")
Tools: first pencil, then black inking pen and watercolour, PS CS5 for correction
Paper size: little smaller than A4

This is beautiful. I really like the vibrant and ever so healthy looking greenery you did here, and the way it feels like you just arrived and everyone looked up when you entered. Everything here is so well drawn and I like your lighting, shading, and the hue differentiation in your color work. It's all so well detailed with the shadows on the steps, the cobblestones, the flower pots... The characters look very nice too, and overall this piece just has the most charming atmosphere. It's like a scene from a nameless Ghibli movie.

I really love the mood in this piece! you really captured the sensation of "autumn" and there is a great balance between warm and cool tones-- I especially love the way the leaves seem on the verge of turning yellow (early autumn? XD). Also, compositionally, this is very well-balanced--- beautiful job!!

I really like it. Seriously this could be in a illustrated children's book. The colors are warm and playful and it has great atmosphere, it makes me feel good just to look at it. You deserve more views and comments on this one.
