Lovely. I myself won't argue with this cause I alreay know that Espeon is a cat. It's a nekomata. Look at the split tails

Yep, I agree. But I'm always fond of seeing other artists try to re-imagine pokemon to fit their own mental image. As wild as they may sometimes be, and as divorced as they sometimes are from the original inspiration, they're often very creative and there's a lot of love put to them.

Oo, I like how you depicted gender differences. If you ask me, 90% of the Pokemon species should have gender differences programmed into them in the games, but I'm not in charge. I agree with what you said regarding interpretations - I think that's what makes Pokemon so fun, is because their biology is so ambiguous; it's fun to imagine the possibilities of what makes them tick. I like your bobcat-like version, it keeps elements from cats and foxes. Gorgeous.

Real life foxes have several traits of cats, like slitted pupils. So it's not all that different from real life, is it?

I went through a whole list of fox species and found one for each of them! Well, okay, Vaporeon might be a stretch, but w/e. But I love seeing different ways people interpret them. combines features of cats, foxes, and weasels for theirs.
My list (and maybe I'll even actually draw them some day) is as follows:
Eevee: cape fox
Vaporeon: Blanford's fox
Jolteon: swift fox
Flareon: red fox
Espeon: pale fox
Umbreon: silver fox
Leafeon: Corsac fox (one of the only canids able to climb trees)
Glaceon: arctic fox
Sylveon: Bengal fox

Agreed, it's really interesting seeing how everyone personally views Eevee and its evolutions. I personally see Espeon as cat-like myself (and seeing how it acts in the Amie in X/Y only serves to further reenforce this), the more foxlike Espeon looks absolutely wonderful!
(I'm sorry if you don't like me faving everything you post, but your art is just so beautiful I can't help it! but if it bother you, please let me know.)

Oh no, it's not an issue at all. Throw favourites at me all you like! Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Yeah, I think it's hard to argue that Espeon is pretty catlike, at least in official depictions. But I've seen so many different variations that I'm pretty content to just keep it an individual thing. And having more diversity is never a bad thing in my mind!

Screee this is awesome looking Moon! While I have my own personal ideas on what specific creature each Eeveelution is, I also really love the idea that they can all easily be more cat-like or more fox-like or whatever depending on the individual.

Hee, thanks Senna. <3 The fact that pretty much every artist out there has their own ideas on how eevees look is pretty rad in my book, and I don't want to throw one idea out just because it's not my personal preference. I figure making it an individual thing is a win-win for everyone, and it means a lot of really cool, really different eevee things running about.

hhhhhh I'm really digging the difference between the two. I love the more subtle differences, like the tail and the build and even the paws.

Thanks Azu! Hee, figuring out just what to end up changing between the two versions was probably the most fun thing about this, glad it's turned out well.
