Description

The mother of Mario Jr., Luigi, and Pauline Jr. and ex-wife of Mario Sr. aka Jumpman. She didn't know when she married Jumpman, that he was a monster. She first met DK the 1st (Crankey Kong) when she was dating Jumpman, and he had invited her over to his apartment. She was kind to him, so he tried to get her away from Jumpman, to protect her from being abused as well. She didn't understand this at the time, but she did after marrying Jumpman.

Pauline never hesitated to use herself as a human shield for her sons. Anything to keep Jumpman from hurting them. Then one day, young Mario Jr. told the Mushroom Kingdom's royal family what was going, after the queen found a bruise on Luigi's arm, so they helped provide protection for Pauline and the boys while she got a divorce, full custody of the boys, and a restraining order.

After Jumpman's accidental death, Pauline discovered that she was pregnant, and while she would be able to raise her sons, since they were able to be a bit independent, she couldn't raise another baby, because she needed to work to provide for her and her sons. Fortunately, relatives of Pauline was willing to adopt the baby, as they weren't able to have a child of their own. Of course Pauline wished she would keep her daughter, but she also wanted what was best for her.

Years later, Pauline Sr. and the Mario bros. were reunited with Pauline Jr., and she was very understanding of their situation.

That locket Pauline wears has two pictures in it. One of her sons and the other of her daughter. Thank goodness, all of her children turned out as good people like her. They also have her eyes.
