Description
In her free time, Fluttershy directs a reality show with her bunnies as competitors.
Selection is very strict. Only the nicest and the cutest can hope to "win".

I never understood how anypony could be totally against violence and yet preserve nature in it's natural state, it just doesn't add up.
That aside, this was pretty morbid. Especially by pony standards O_o

My assumption is that there are some creatures that are non-sentient, such as the fish the bear eats, that there is no issue with.

But when I was little, I was worried about hurting the fishes too. They're still living, breathing creatures who show a level of response to getting hurt/killed. We even have vegans who refuse to eat meat because of it.
So our concern for these "dumb animals" surpasses that of Fluttershy 
Either Flutters is more willing to kill than other ponies (Who don't have to deal with such moral dilemma being herbivores), or it's an oversight on the show's producers part (and we're creating this paradox by over-analyzing a kid's show). I personally think it's the latter

This was actually in an ACTUAL episode. Not this scene in the comic, but Fluttershy throws some fish to ferrets, and worms to baby birds, all with a smile on her face. I guess all animals are equal, but some are equal than others.

I imagine this is how Angel gets out out paying child-support (kit-support?) payments to all the does he shags.
Come to think of it, this may be why Fluttershy keeps Angel around; all those meals for all the birds of prey she keeps got to come from somewhere...

OOC? Or not? I've always wondered how she deals with carnivores and predators, instead of just the "cutsie-wootsie".
For those who say that she feeds them with fish, I remind you that in comic #13 she becomes overly-attached to Gil.
So she doesn't seem to consider fish just as meat for her critters or less-worthy of her kindness.

I remember from the first comic she mentioned how 2 animals fighting over their prey(which was oddly enough them) was really fascinating. So she does get some creatures aren't satisfied with just veggies and nuts.

Honestly, the comics take too many liberties. I wanted to like them, but they're too ridiculous to take seriously. They play up Fluttershy's little quirks to outrageous proportions in random and absurd ways.

To say nothing of the fact they reused more than one plotline from the T.V. series in strange ways ; Like making nightmare Rarity.. I mean on; Could they get more obvious ripoff than that one even if there are fans of that story?.. I can take the coloring books more serious than the comic books but there have been a few stories that managed to stand out as possible canon.. just a few.. Very few!!

And the Nightmare Rarity thing is a good example of something pretty different from what we see in the show, since whatever corrupting entity it was that turned Rarity like that is never shown or even hinted at in the TV series.

Or why it was so much like Nightmare Moon.; As for T.V. series showing it.. I don't think they even managed that in the comic book.. A real waste no matter what way you slice it.
