My first try with the tablet...I have to admit it...it's quite different from using a pencil
Hope it looks like something (although I have the impression that it doesn't look like anything)
Btw, does anyone know how to smooth the lines of the drawing? They look kind of wobbly...Oh, and I also have a big problem with shadows...I didn't add them because they looked terrible. Can someone give me some advice about how to draw those?

I think you did an awesome job with it. You really should have seen my first attempt on my tablet. Believe me, you fared far better than I did. It really does look like Nala from The Lion King. it's as if you took a picture.
I'm sorry, but I'm not much help when it comes to shadows, I'm still learning on it myself. And for smoothing your lines out (Though I don't see anything wrong) I haven't used GIMP yet, so I couldn't say. If GIMP uses vectors, you could try moving the little points to your desired place. But if it's bitmap like Photoshop, I don't know. I'm just at the basics. But I do know if GIMP is like Photoshop, you could try doing your shadows and then blending them or smutching them so they don't stand out as much. But that's all I can think of at the time. Sorry.

Your welcome. I'm working on a mouse drawing I did right now. I think I will give it a shot in GIMP and see how I make out. I'll see if I can find anything on blending or smuching there. If I happen to come across something, I'll let you know.
