Here’s Cerise casually and reasonably explaining to her friend, Ava, why she has a dead leaf on her head~

When she was younger, Cerise never knew her real mother. After a building she and her siblings resided in collapsed, killing each of her litter mates and severely injuring her, Cerise was discovered in the debris and adopted by a family of four cats- a mother, a father, and their two sons- shortly afterward. This family, however, was a little on the crazy side due to having thrived in such a corrupt, maleficent city for so long. One of Cerise’s ‘brothers’ contracted a case of rabies about a moon afterward, and therefore had to be put down. Cerise’s new family, however, believed it to be an evil entity which had taken control of the young tom’s soul. Being so young, Cerise completely believed this. The family also believed if they kept something unliving close to them at all times, evil spirits such as these would assume them to be deceased and would leave them alone as a result, being interested in only the living. From that day forth, Cerise collected dead leaves that she could keep close to her- in this case behind her ear- in order to avoid the same fate her brother suffered.
